Pardon me if im wrong, but i thought i read before that bio home is suppose to work best when place at area with flow, so that the bacteria inside it can work efficiently. you might want to put in the sump before you have any livestock inside.

pinkspid3r replied to Omoto chief xtreme's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Hi, in my opinion, i will recommend coral farm or lck201 if you are shopping in the west side. coral farm http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?f=q&geocode=&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&msa=0&msid=112917874651802001146.0004462b667fa656671fe lck201 -
does your puffer nip at the corals?

wow very nice tanks. thanks for the link! Thanks for the info bro, maybe i will have the return pipe higher, like 1 inch from water surface, or drill a hole on it to have a siphon break. Another qn, to combine tanks, do we have to cycle the new tank individually before connecting them?
-
bro, do you have their facebook link? too many with the name irwana in fb. Thanks for the highlighting this to me, didnt think of it. I think it will overflow the sump, because now when my pump is turn off, the water level to top is only about 3inch, is there any kind of formula i can use to calculate?

Hi bros and siss, i am planning to connect a 3 x 1.5 x 2ft, 12mm thickness, braceless tank to my current 3 x 1ft sump that is serving my 4 x 2 x 2. Firstly my concern is whether the braceless tank can support saltwater, as previously it has been use for freshwater. And i plan to keep macro algae in this tank, will i still need to get additional skimmer for it? i am currently using a skimz sm161 for my 4ft. My idea is to get an overflow box to connect to the sump and using an additional return pump back to the 3ft tank, will this work? Cheers =)

i think its the brown jelly disease. cause i siphon out some brown slimy thing, there were quite a fair bit stuck at the bottom part, so i chop it off, hope it wont infect the rest of it. resting it at a high flow area now, gonna get some lugols solution tomorrow, hope i can still save it.
-
i did that bro, but the pics i found online for brown jelly disease does not seems to be the same as what is happening to my hammer. so im seeking help to see if its the same disease.

is this a short tentacle plate coral?
pinkspid3r replied to pinkspid3r's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Thanks for the ID =) Maybe i should move it to the sandbed. But i am quite surprise it can survive pretty well because i do not use RO/DI water and just doze some iodine and micro-nutrients. Hmm maybe i can try some LPS. -
Hi peeps, may i know is this a short tentacle plate coral or something else? comes with the LR, doesnt know if its harmful. looks harmless though.
