  2. GO, after shipment day madness, usually you can bargain to 100/3pc or even 4pc generally except for those known popular/expensive stuff like prata
  3. LCK yellow tang: super small $23 Powder Blue Tang: small, $15+/- supersun: S$60/colony, S$10/head peppermint shrimp: S$15
  4. Hi, i have 2 packs of Live Black Volcanic Sand from iwarna lying in my store room for a year or so. bought it at S$55 if i remember correctly. now going for $50/pack, PM me if interested or SMS 9-1-5-4-0622. collection at bukit panjang
  5. just infinity + 1 lor... i dont think it may make much difference (especially to my blur eyes), but still, try my best to make a better(hopefully) water condition for all the livestocks..
  6. let me stir a bit, do we really need to replace led bulb? many LED claims to last up to 5 years, however, by then, i suppose newer newer generation of bulbs are in the market at competitive price already, so, 1. will the driver still able to support the latest bulbs? not necessarily... 2. will you want to replace with outdated/low lm bulbs? unlikely...
  7. One thing to take note is to do tests *regularly* (like weekly) instead of adhoc timing as you like. In this way, you can slowly establish a maintenance routine on how much and how often you should dose each of the additives.
  8. just fyi, this can still work around, the window can change to open inwards and then compressor can stack up using brackets as i did it for my living room aircon. the wiring/piping is still problematic though
  9. S$400 is a steal even after one year , i think 800-1000 is reasonable...
  10. i also feel drop-in coil will be a better solution, but guess pub bill will also be a bit higher due to on/off an over-sized external compressor? any bros to share? installation & piping is another headache for those already deco-ed home...
  11. thanks jacky for the comments. Well, i just list out what i read and i do believe in certain extend for brands like tropic marin. And i guess it does contains 70+ elements, just that the concentration is obviously not sufficient to be relied on. it doesnt appeal to me in this case since i'm already dosing its A & K elements anyway. btw, acknowledge to reefdepot all info & pricing is from their website.
  12. Hi Bros, I'm thinking of adding Strontium and have shortlisted the 3 below, any comments will be appreciated 1. Kent Marine Strontium & Molybdenum (8 oz) S$12.50 easy to use, relatively cheap, some additional elements such as agnesium, potassium and molybdenum salts. last 3month for 100g tank 2. Kent Marine Turbo Strontium 300g S$29 cheapest, but more tedious to use and only adds Strontium, lasts 12years for 100g tank if i understand correctly [Make a 10% (by weight) stock solution by mixing 10 grams of TURBO STRONTIUM powder with 100 milliliters of reverse osmosis or deionized water . Add 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) of this stock solution per 50 gallons (180 liters) of aquarium water, every week] i.e. 10gm ==> 100ml ==>20weeks, 300gm ==>600weeks 3. Tropic Marin Bio-Strontium (200 g) S$28 balanced, Contains all 70 trace elements found in natural sea water. relatively more expensive lasts 10 weeks for 100g tank
  13. starphire, low-iron and crystal clear glasses, do they refer to the same type of glass? if not, whats the difference? thanks.
  14. 2 small frags available for sale, mother colony shown below. self collect at bukit panjang after 8pm or weekends. even better if you have any sps frag for exchange. pls pm me if interested. thanks
  15. especially true, i always wonder why my 2ft is not as tall as others...
  16. it must be a divider, haha... anyway, from reefing perspective, you will definitely find it too narrow when you get addicted and try to somehow *perfect* the rockscape...but as a divider, 1.5ft is almost the max you can have...so the choice is still hard on you i guess btw, i have the exact tank of your proposed size ...
  17. i think you just be a bit more patient.....actually i got a very small YT and PBT from LCK, the same batch as your previous one if i'm not wrong, both are doing fine so far. i also kena white spot a few times in the beginning and lost some fishes. As for your nitrate, not much to be worried since you dont keep SPS, just slowly bring it down, and from online resources, the most reliable/economical way is still a sulfur bead denitrator IMHO.
  18. yes, catch it after light out, midnight......you should be able to simply catch it out by hands
  19. with additives dosing, more is seldom better
  20. second that, by all means get the frozen type.
  21. ich just makes your reefing experience more complete
