  3. Hi bro, It's time to invest in dosing pump. btw, if you are (really) lazy, fix Mg at a relatively high level like 1500 (if you are worried, then 1400), then monitor Kh and salinity. Kh is much more volatile than Ca.

  9. come on guys, i know aiptasia is annoying, but that doesnt really work out. ok assuming you have a completely clean setup, so what's next? are you going to boil and sun dry the corals you buy? are you going to boil and sun dry the fishes you buy? if not, the rocks that come with the coral you buy may be infested with aiptasia, the water from LFS might have floating aiptasia tissue which can grow into aiptasia. you will get aiptasia in your tank sooner or later, so get used to it and get it under control by means of using natural predator or chemicals
  10. Hi bros, Just to check would you buy them if you have a mixed reef such as zoa/sun/supersun/gonia/birdnest/digi? I do have one flame angel which is considered reef-safe (ok 50%) by the large. thanks

  12. you might want to specify how long has it been used or whether it is still under warranty.
  13. pictures are from web... I set the criteria as we understand that the main purpose of live rocks/sands in marine tank is to support biological filtration. I am just trying to understand why some (similar to type3) cost as much as $16/kg while type1 above are commonly found at local LFS at $4-6/kg. And those giant pieces are usually of type2 (typically $4-6/kg as well) and are usually nice and easy to scape.
  14. Hi, Just want to check which type of the following is better or are they equally good in terms of its **filtration function**? 1 acro skeleton, light, good for small fishes 2 appears more dense, more stone/rock like 3 flat type
  15. come on lah, they were congrating ms bell :chair:
  16. also interested in Blotched Anthia, but would it get along with my tiny sunburst anthia (1 inch)? btw, any LFS in the west used to have it?
