  1. Thanks for the above tips. I have placed the clown into the betta box and it is eating very well. The powder brown has stopped trying to peck at it and in fact seems to be ignoring it completely. It spent the whole of last night continuously trying to bite and cut the poor clown inside the bag, fortunately the plastic bag protected the clown. The clown is actually 50% bigger than the powder brown. I will prob keep the clown in betta box for another day or two to ensure that they get used to each other more. Hope it works out. Should have been more alert to the scientific names of the fish; didn't know that they belong to the same genus, but they look so different! Ordinarily I would not have risk such compatibility issues as I had to tolerate watching a very beautiful and feeding Powder Blue get killed by that Powder Brown just 2 mths ago.
  2. I have an existing powder brown tang. I forgot that clown tangs are same genus as powder brown and hence purchased a very healthy feeding clown and when i floated the bag in tank last night, the powder brown immediately rushed forward to attack it. I still have the clown in the bag half-submerged in tank, with holes for oxygenation. I dare not release the clown into tank for fear of it being killed. I intend to buy a betta box later and keep the clown there for some time, hopefully the powder brown will get used to clown. Any other suggestions?
  3. Thanks. BTW you quite famous liao, because hear the other boys quoting your name "Lemon" inside Reborn.
  4. I was there this afternoon and am interested in one of the blue damsels: Can clarify if the blue damsels are Fiji Blue Devil ? Because dun wanna get an aggressive damsel that ends up upsetting the other reef fish in the tank.
  5. Thanks, looks like it It seeems very adaptable, eating quite readily today. Too bad about the loss of yellow eventually at the tail though.
  6. There were some so-called "deep sea chromis" at Iwarna, but somehow can't get the proper name, can't find it anywhere on the net. It looks attractive though. Anyone who saw them have a better idea what it actually is?
  7. Those are beautiful horses and look well fed. What do you mean by shrimplets from market? They must be very small!
  8. Thanks bro! Finally know the name. Small tail wrasse- no wonder I always thought its tail looks rather comical , really short, like someone cut it into half with a pair of scissors.
  9. Bought this wrasse 1 month ago, nobody can ID it, not even the LFS staff, although I was told it is pretty common stuff. I think it is some halichores species. It is very shy, in fact it went "missing" for some weeks and I thought it died, but past 1 week it resurfaced after my solarensis wrasse jumped out of the tank. Can anyone help me ID it?

  11. Hey, that is a very beautiful photograph!
  12. Polyart- why that name? the name doesn't sound like a fish shop at all, more like a graphics design shop selling brushes, paints, paper etc.
  13. Have one flavicauda currently, seldom disturb my sps and lps. Prefers to nip at other dwarf angels, unfortunately.
  14. Thanks. The tank is a 24G nano, hence with the limited space constraints, I think it is better to just continue to keep the flavicauda first. It is surprisingly aggressive, very small, cute looking but behave like monsters.
  15. yes, the one in peach coloured shirt and spending a lot of time getting the perfect purple tang among the many in Ah Beng
  16. Many very small clown triggers in Ah Beng and the shop next to Ah Beng, they are so very cute, so tempted to get one but I understand that I may lose the reef later. Yes, still many purple tang at Ah Beng, healthy, got one myself just now.
  17. I have a flavicauda angel and am very keen to introduce a flame angel or a flameback. However, I have some misgivings about keeping both of these pygmies together. I tried that a few mths ago and the much smaller flavicauda chases the flame around sometimes and eventually the flame developed at sore at the gills and subsequently perished, I can't be sure that the flavicauda killed it. What are the experiences of the other reefers?
  18. The poor girls, hope they are not reefers and reading these comments, lol. But I still think some of them may look better in person (really some look worse than average, which cannot be- afterall this is a beauty pageant!.
  19. I think all reefers should go to Redang at least once: the waters are generally clear and the marine life within easy reach. Many resorts have nice reefs just outside the resort itself, and you can just dip in and look for stuff anytime when conditions are right. It is truly magical.
  20. Just wondering how to actually transport fish in the luggage...can they actually survive the trip? At least corals can be kept moist and packed tightly, but fish??
  21. Are fairy wrasses notorious for jumping? Lost one when it jumped into another compartment.
  22. I just got one from henry on friday, eats his Gourmet food. I think there was 2 more left on Friday.
