Rics, the more you buy, better the price...usually the green ones are less popular. Blue ones and multi-coloured are one of the fav follow by orange ones.

Yup..i agree when you buy stuffs here either thru bidding or thru pay-on-spot-price..its like COV...its all about doing yr personal home work to check whether the goods or the livestock is overpriced....some reefers here dun mind paying more...at least they know if they offer a price high enough, they will get it vs travelling all the way to LFS which may not be available. Majority of pple here will make some mistakes here and there...bound to have some not-so-nice experience.

Dun intend to....trying to minimise equipments in the sump....my bioload is not gonna be high...just a couple of small fishes for the new tank. If no buyer, then will just keep and use it.

if the seller gets his kakis to help him to jack up the price...that one can't be prevented....its happening everywhere including properties, other sorts of products...etc...only you know whether that piece of coral is worthwhile for you to part with your notes in yr wallet. if you feel that frag or coral is not worth that price...then dun go for it loh...then you will not fall into the trap.

First of all, it has to be an apple to apple comparison...can't compare air stone with downdraft or venturi..right? Comparison has to be made within same category...for example, for HOB..you can compare deltec MCE series with CPR Bak Pak, Reef octopus HOB, aquamedic turboflotor, aqua C remora, red sea prizm, etc...to name a few. Then cone models, you should compare between skimz, reef octopus, bubble king....

i agree with you...posting an old picture of the coral for sale that is so different from actual condition is one good example from my personal experience.

ya lah..our market is small...even for skimmer over here is more expensive.

i can confirmed chopped stamped...mushrooms are getting more expensive....in 2008 i can get a rock of fully cover purple or red mushrooms for $35...now...kns...at least >$50 a rock.

Cannot just observe skimmate...coz if you do heavy feeding...there will be dirty skimmate...even for a lousy skimmer like weipro from personal experience. Established brands are part of marketing strategy...and ang mohs are very good with that. With good branding, you can charge high prices for your products and of course, that comes with certain level of quality and performance to do that..just like benz and bmw...and overtime...trust and loyalty is build with consumers that pple eventually spread thru word-of-mouth. If you really want to know if your skimmer is good...hahahaha...i tell you lah....if an anemone gets into the wavewaver and got blended...and yr tank did not crash...u know u have a good skimmer!

Partly due to demand & shipment cost....as our ekonomi improve...i hope there will be more n more reefers & LFS. Missed the 90s where they were much more marine LFS around...these days can count how many left.
