GO also has some nice mushies on small rocks...those u see at Reborn are the super mushies..that's y they are huge. (just trying to get the point across, so that we dun side track too much)
  10. Haha...paiseh ...confused with the other forum...anyway Geoaquatic has one of those external overflow box.
  11. RSM has a 4ft one which i saw the other day at AM@Katong....everything is there, equipped with sump system and overflow pipes. Basically plug and reef. If that one cost less than $4k, i dun mind...rather than getting contractors to build cabinet and all that...
  12. Hi, Just to clarify, are you looking for an external overflow box that does not require drilling holes on yr existing tank? If yes, you can get external overflow box from Reef Depot, one of our sponsor (not promoting them, but they do carry). The brand is tunze, from Germany. You can check out their website, www.reefdepot.com.sg under Overflow Boxes.
  13. Hi there brother, Thanks for coming to me for advice. Glad to share with you what my experiences and my knowledge. May i know if you are intending to go for sump system (meaning there will be overflow and yr water gets filtered into another tank usually below) or external cannister filteration? Assuming you are going for sumpless system, both skimmers are not advisable. Why is that so? ok, let me explain... 1. Weipro skimmer 2011 need a powerful pump, at least 2000L/hr to drive it, which means the pump is pretty big and gonna look occupy space in yr tank and make yr tank looks ugly; I have tried it personally, so i m speaking based on experience. 2. Jebo skimmer, hang-on type, splashes water into your tank...definitely a no no and will create bubbles in yr water...bad for corals and fishes. And yr floor will be sticky with salt residue. My advice is this brother, if you are going to start, there are a few suitable skimmers for you to check out: 1. Tunze Doc Skimmer (a bit expensive, but reliable and compact) Reef Depot carry this brand. 2. Aqua C (hard to find this, but it's good for nano) 3. Dymax Nano Skimmer Xp model (affordable) Blk 328 Clementi 24hrs LFS and Reborn carry this. 4. External Skimmers that do not require sump (but rather expensive investment) Aquamarin has a few models. Asumming you intend to set-up a sump system in future, you can get the weipro 2011 since the pump and skimmer will be in the sump and will be out of sight, so it's ok. Quite reliable for a china brand, but requires weekly maintenance by cleaning the collection cup and the skimmer neck area. Otherwise, not effective. As for me, i am not using a skimmer at the moment for the past 5 months. I do regular water change every 3 days to keep nutrients low and control algae growth everyday by cleaning the glass walls. Hope my suggestions helps and not confused you...haha
  14. I think mine more humble...lolx..some of his corals quite power one... just kidding
  15. My abalone FOC...came out of no where...haha... sometimes they come with the liverocks...
  16. Yr fire coral, use glue to stick them on the rock better...they will grow faster...they are like SPS. If yr tank place is small, quite risky...
  17. Student price ah?...how come i dun get that kinda rates...
  18. I understand...but i prefer my tank to be clean...thats y i m reluctant to feed prawns...less cholesterol also...prawns high cholesterol...lolx
  19. Errr..bro Reddevils, it has been some time SRC has TOTM, why dun post some FTS and we nominate yours....can tell yr tank is chioz...dun hide hide any more...hahaha...
  20. I can't really comment on Aquapharm additives as i have not use them except for de-chorinator to treat tap water. Anyway, since you have already got them, must well use them...i do know AM carries a number of brands and can be confusing to new birds who are looking for additives.
  21. They are quite helpful in controlling algae...
  22. Yo bro, i feed it with chopped batang fish meat. My favia beside also had some. I prefer fish meat than prawns as they are not that polluting.
  23. If you are using quality charcoal, that's ok...but have to change after 2-3 months, otherwise will leak phosphate back to water. Have to dose trace elements weekly as activated carbon (charcoal commonly called) will absorb trace elements also. Rowaphos more for phosphate technically...but acutally nitrate and phosphate are similar..they are nitrogen or nutrients. You may want to put biohome or media to cultivate bacteria in yr 2nd compartment. Your carbon can place in 1st compartment with filter wool.
