  1. 12mm will be better and safer...give you better peace of mind...and with bracing at the bottom. Btw, which tank maker do you intend to engage? just curious...
  2. we have unhappy people slaving in the streets of raffles place, tg pagar, jurong, woodlands and tuas...and some say batam... we have no high mountains and valleys, but we have tall buildings and overpriced public housing where pple toil 30 years of their life to be debt free and only to realise their monies in C_F cannot be taken out till they r almost one foot in the coffin....
  3. i saw a 10inch blue atlantic tang in sealife yesterday...not too sure if that is the fish...haha
  4. u mean Golden Domino Damsel? saw one left in iwarna last week...but dun know whether still there ornot i like this fish too...haha
  5. For your tank size...better to install RO somewhere...can be done...alternatively, is to buy nsw from iwarna or ah beng for water change. One big packet is about 10-12 litres.
  6. did u rescaped? looking good...what happened to some of yr angels? still around?
  7. Hi Violent Mind.....i mean Violet Mind, I would not recommend RSM tanks...quite restrictive if you intend to change / upgrade the equipments in future, although it is relatively easy becoz it is build for "plug and reef" kind of model. Basically, u need to know for reef tanks there are 3 types of fileration - biological, chemical and mechanical. Biological, we mean the use of bacteria to break down nutrients into harmless nitrogen (NO3)by using liverocks, pellets, bacteria dosing, bio rings refugium system, etc... Chemical, for eg, the use of po4 remover such as rowaphos. Mechanical, for eg, the use of filter wool, filter socks and protein skimmers. And all these types of filteration can be deploy using a sump. Usually reefers use a combination of these methods. Besides SRC, you can also check out www.reefcentral.com When u visit the LFS, you can study the tank and the sump system and take some pics for reference. Make some friends here, they will help u alot in yr reefing hobby....never walk alone....cheers!
  8. post some pictures of your 5ft tank once u r free...haha...
  9. throw away yr existing rocks and restart...this is due to the live rocks n the biological system is not established properly...happened to me not too long ago....wiped out my sps. The antibiotic tablets not much use if the problem is serious.... i used the word.."recomm"..haha...its ok to be discouraged...give yr tank a good wash and get good live rocks for cycling...n dose nitrifying bacteria
  10. u can ask sgbros or coral reef aquarium to fix up a new set of pipings for u for a fee how is the condition of the cabinet? that is quite important also...considering the total weight of the tank with water n rocks n sand, that is going to rest on the cabinet for the next few years....
  11. dip yr zoas in freshwater or using coralrx...to kill the pests..especially nudis that feed on zoas. wat u have is radioactive zoas...the other one on the right, i'm not sure.
  12. i never grow tired looking at those videos...
  13. looking good...colourful reef tank! do u feed yr corals?
  14. a few possibilities i can think of.... ......okok..just kidding...this is the most interesting sales thread!
  15. looking good...looks like sps poisoning getting deeper
  16. i had a recent red slime outbreak that wipe out almost my entire sps...i have dose amox, no used..they will come back. In the end, i used threw away those infested rocks n recomm my tank.... pls do not attempt to use toothbrush to clean it...they will spread even faster likely this is due to massive die-off of beneficial bacteria in the rocks, resulting in po4 leakage from the rocks....no amt of PO4 remover is gonna help...u r wasting $$$....water change will help a little, but not much....try red slime ultraslime remover...this may nuke the red slime, but u have to dose a lot of bacteria to restore the biological system....all the best!....be prepared to have sleepless nights n mood swings...sorry if i sound blunt...just sharing my personal experience
