  1. It's 4 inches and is green in colour. (Using h/p to take thats y pic quality not so good) They are found in shallow waters - clean or muddy. Easy to keep for beginners. So pls vote and tell me how much will you pay for this.
  2. Hi, Just want to find out how much would you pay for this coral at LPS?
  3. Bro, how much you paid for yr bicolour prata and acan? Just to make sure i dun gana chop
  4. You can place it at the bottom or under indirect light. Try to feed it like cyclopeez or zooplankton or few drops of iodine n strondium + calcium supplements. Hopefully can recover.
  5. Simply means yr blasto is dying. But can still savage. A few reasons for that: 1. Temperature > 30 degrees 2. Nitrate high 3. No makan. Have u been feeding yr blasto? or do u provide them with supplements like strontium n idoine? or change yr waters weekly? 4. Light too strong I got one LPS fellow tried to sell me luminous green blasto at $38 bucks...but 2 heads already bleached like yours. Crazy man.
  6. Very difficult to catch these crabs...coz the minute u approach the tank, they hide inside the holes in the rocks. But i am ok with them, coz they eat the wastes on the sandbed and on the rocks. So long they dun become as big as sri lankan crabs, then have to cook them liao..haha..
  7. Same experience i had with my Jebo hang-on...stop skimming for 2 weeks and i realised the pump is not powerful enough to drive the skimmer. Then i changed to Weipro, better performance. Collect dark brown kopi-o. But i very kiasu, i dun trust these low-end skimmers, so i changed 20% water every 3-4 days..haha
  8. Most likely crabs...my star polyps got shifted a few times. They are quite strong.
  9. I got visit Reborn. Price is quite reasonable and lots of varieties and frequent shipments. I used to visit J @ west coast, find the prices steep. Have decide to skip this one. Heard there's a new LPS called Golden Octopus at Upp Serangoon.
  10. You can check out this website at http://www.nano-reef.com/
  11. Its powerful enough for 2011.
  12. Still ok to use....i am using that model. If yours is sumpless, then place the skimmer outside and the pump inside. Get a powerful pump, at least 2000L/hr to drive the skimmer, if not no power and yr skimmer will not be effective, coz i wasted some money spending on worthless pumps. This is a low end skimmer, so compensate by getting a good and powerful pump. The skimmer works by the pump in the tank sucking in all the water and the bubbles produce in the skimmer will carry the organic waste to the collection cup on top. The more fine the bubbles, the more effective the skimmer in "carrying" the organic waste. If you use low end skimmer, you can still have clear good quality waters by changing more frequently. It's that simple. But if you want less hassle, then invest in a good skimmer. Thats my honest opinon.
  13. My zoas gana infested with nudis and polyps start to closed up and shrink. I dip it in fresh water for 10mins, not much use. Next day, still have some nudis appearing. When i put back into my tank, my zoas release some toxins....my cleaner shrimp tio poison, died. In the end, i have no choice but to throw away..sad. I heard those zoas from indonesia usually will have nudis.
  14. So far nothing has happen to my corals and my camel shrimp is 2 inches big.
  15. This is a close shot of my acan during the night. Camel shrimp taking a risk by taking cover behind it...haha Feeding it with zooplankton / rotifer is enough?
  16. Thank you much for the advices brothers. Will place it on the sand bed tonight.
  17. Yo, Any brothers have this in their tank? Currently, i placed it on top. I din feed any market prawns except dosing zooplankton. Need some advice whether they need special care. Paid 80 bucks for this acan, size of 50 cent coin and hope it will grow and do well in my hands.
  18. Ozoniser very effective with ich in guarantine tank. But since you spent so much liao, no point spending more. You should prepare a guarantine tank or pail also can, but for this tank, reduce your salinity level below normal level. Put your fishes there for 2-3days can liao. But rmb to supply air pump and dose some of your ich medications as instruct. If still persists, fix a UV light on yr main tank and switch on for 4-5 hrs per day. Dun switch on it for too long, otherwise yr fishes will gana skin cancer. I experienced before.
  19. Oh, you used Reefmax huh. I just bought one bucket of Reefmax also on Saturday. Quite good, dissolve easily. But i din measure the parameters. Claimed it is just good as tropic marin.
  20. Thanks angelfishlover bro! I will avoid this brand..haha
  21. How about Red Sea? Anybody using this brand / have used b4?
  22. I think yr finger is not fragging, but rather releasing toxins that make yr water cloudy. Place yr LPS away from the finger, coz once they gana sting by LPS or other corals, they will release toxins to protect themselves. And these toxins if not remove fast by yr filter, will kill some of your corals. If you want to frag, cut the stem. But do not cut it in yr tank..haha. Prepare a pail of salt water and frag it in that pail. A lot of milky stuff will appear. But i suggest you give away the finger.
  23. It does not matter whether it is alive or not alive. You can put them in the fridge, last longer.
  24. Once you off yr lights, they will "shrink" or rather go to sleep...so dun be alarmed. What i do everyday, before i go to work, i switch off my skimmer for about 30mins and drip some plankton. After that they will open up wider. Normally, if you do not drip plankton, they will still open up so long you switch on yr lights, but not so wide. Green stripe mushies do not open as big as purple mushies thru my observations.
  25. Switch off yr skimmer for 1-2hrs, and drip some plankton into the water. Your mushies should open up wide. If you want yr mushies to frag, add iodine. I got my green stripes less than that, but colour not as bright as yours. Probably yours is aquacultured / premium grade, so cost more. Btw, where u bought yrs?
