Do you think the video was taken at a certain speed? I dun think the snails respond so fast.

What do u usually buy when u visit a lfs?

Let me start first. I dun have particular corals or fishes in mind...usually i look at my tank and decide wat i can add into existing stocks. First thing is brain and mushies, then follow by scolymia / roti pratas... When comes to additives, i prefer to stick to seachem and coralife. Brightwell aquatics looks good, probably next in line to try them out. -
I like your orange shroom...got it from GO? very nice....another temptation... Btw, how powerful is yr seio? i mean in terms of litres/hr...thinking of changing my current one coz its too strong like tornado inside my tank.

-

-

I din know coral chips will produce nitrate...looks like i need to remove them too. (learnt something tdy) -
I have kept arrowana before....i think it is a bit too much to feed them with a baby duck la seriously... Last time i just feed it with crickets and small frogs...already growing very fast.
-
If they have deep pockets, nobody can stop them from filling up their tank with pedigree corals and making their place look wonderful. It's so smoothing just sitting in front of your tank and staring at your tank and destressing.... It's the attitude of the owner...are they showing off to attract attention or is it their passion...coz that will determine how well they will take care of their pets...same applies to dogs and cats.

lolx....bro lee likes to talk co#k...haha...i prefer plain ones..more cripsy.
-
Think the reefers here who keep prata usually feed them with market prawns once a week or alternate week...plankton food probably to supplement. Henry gourmet also can...but u need to target feed.
-
wow this is crazy...i wonder if any LFS will bring this in...

Mine is pinkish red...cannot compare to those u c at GO...this one i bought are one of those left overs in the tank. I m always getting leftovers...lolx...most impt i m happy with my purchase. -
Those i saw at RB, the colours are pretty good...maroon red with green face...but cannot compare to those you see at GO la..for that kind of price, cannot ask for much. Since you 1st time trying prata...dun commit those exotic ones u c at GO. If bleached, heart pain...you know wat i mean. While i m writing this....actually my hands also itchy leh...i wanted to get it also.
-
I prefer to keep those i like and is able to take care...and some nice gems also....but certainly NOT to impress others or to show off. I dun over-indulge like spending 4-6 blue notes on a prata or couple of blue notes for zoas. Some normal looking corals if you give them tender loving care, their colours will improve and they will look impressive too.

Reborn got some red prata 6 red notes...hopefully still have coz i saw them on sunday

corals being overrun by algae
TayHongSiang replied to fishiee's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
For me..the back of my tank has a lot of brown algae...damn irritating...i just use a sponge to scrub them off and do a water change immediately. Last week i remove 2 pieces of my liverocks and scrub them in a pail of sea water using toothbrush like brushing teeth like that...now my tank looks better and the coraline algae are growing. -

2 HO T5 enough? Coz i read from Advanced Aquarist online, saying low lights under T5 or PL also can or under indirect MH ...i m feeding them with rotifer n kent marine phytoplankton..are these enough or suitable too? If not i will get Coralife coral food to target feed? -
Np...i see the equipments given i more or less know from which LFS. When comes to reefing, 2 most impt basic items...protein skimmer and lighting..these 2 items must be good and reliable, then follow by the tank, pipings and return pump. Review of Skimz cone protein skimmer is good...coz of the design, allowing the bubbles to bring the waste to the colelction cup more easily. Deltec skimmers are already well known in the market...have reliable reputation. They are like cars..deltec is mercedes...branding is there, got resale valuable, durable and reliable. Skimz is like lexus...powerful and efficient, but resale value lose to mercedes...u know wat i mean. What u intend to keep or wat u like to see in the tank? that one is the factor in determing yr set-up. Show you SPS SPS_coral.bmp

Now that i see properly..they are blastos...nonethless, the colours are juz unbelievable.
