  1. Btw, bro, wilson i like yr brains and pratas...saw some blue mushrooms..can hear channelnewsasia in the background...haha
  2. Not advisable as the purpose of surface skimmer is to remove the excess protein and detritus on the surface of yr water. The concept is the same as overflow system. You can try to "conceal"it by perhaps adding some corals around that area...or you can place a liverock that soft of block the green tube.
  3. Feed them when lights are off better...their tentacles will come out...depending how big yr brain...they will swallow it. The mouth is like the women's CB...you know wat i mean...you got to slot yr prawn there.
  4. Jiireh Marine @ west coast drive....coz i saw their LRs also have hitchhiker corals.
  5. Nice rocks you have there....bought from JM? Shd be alveopora.
  6. In their natural habitat...they eat anything that comes in contact with their tentacles. Even SPS they feed on fish sai.
  7. Yup...use a toothbrush...and reduce yr nutrients...and last but not least, clean yr skimmer collection cup. Do 10-20% water change for the next 3 days....and measure yr nitrate and phosphate level. Dump a bag of activated carbon or phosphate remover medium in yr sump.
  8. http://www.eshopps.com/catalog.php I hope LFS can bring this soft of skimmer..man...
  9. Anyway, i m not keen on anemones...not suitable for my nano. But i like the shrooms though...purple, green and dark green with stripes...big and juicy like shitake mushrooms. Frankly, i went there a few times bcoz the shop assistant, jimmy is quite helpful. There's some left over fire corals...anybody want to try them out? haha...and a huge elegance.
  10. Ohh ya...cheaper alternative is to prepare yr water in a pail and throw in a bag of carbon and allow yr prepared water to settle down for 1-2 days before using. There are a lot of brands available...can check out reef depot website.
  11. I m using treated tap water to change water, but realised it promotes brown algae in my tank bcoz of silicate and phosphate found in tap water. So, i have added seachem phosguard to absorb these chemicals and other metals in the water. For top up, i will used distilled water. In the LR, you can purchase a RO..think it is abt $90 plus from JM@west coast. Crystal pro will be a bit expensive for u.
  12. I can only gently comment...just ensure the skimmer is reliable brand and the lighting. For lighting...if yr budget allows got for germany brand like giessmann (spells something like that), ATI or this DE lighting. You dun want to end up paying a few K but yr hardwares are low end stuffs..u know wat i mean.
  13. That one is nice!!!...can take a pic of yr chinchinla?
  14. Very neat and clean... Shows that softies and LPS tank and look as good as a SPS tank.
  15. Long time din hear from you...harvest any gems lately?
  16. I was the one who mentioned abt that longkao la! Ohh..that guy, jimmy not working there anymore? no wonder i went down tdy he's not there...saw a filipino maid there, ask her for the price, she dun know...then i dun know whether to go in n ask the lady boss...coz every time i go in there, i end up buying more things...lolx
  17. Bro it is useless putting wool. I have that jebo skimmer before. you can try to raise yr water level so that the water will not sprash so much. frankly that skimmer is not suitable...i have this in my store room for 6 months.
  18. Btw i went to ML and JM this afternoon...ML good stuffs most gone cleared until clean clean...got a nice red blasto...a bit pricy so din buy. JM left with emperor, powder blue, some algae blenny, red sea cucumber, lots of urchins, red n yellow anemone, some nice big mushies...wanted to buy but no one is helping me so went off.
  19. Haha no offence bro i click the wrong reply button..
  20. Hmm...you bought that brain that i wanted...good choice...but you need to feed it, coz kinda "skinny" when i saw it.
  21. i dun mind paying one red note for that snail...
