  1. Feed my average joe ah kan family with fish meat...muchin away...pui pui now.
  2. That's pretty reasonable for that nice yuma....got it from AM? Same goes for lemon's yuma.
  3. Why dun go for 2ft? More room to place yr corals and easier to maintain...you can use back the same cannister. Lighting can go for hopar brand...around $40 - $45 for 2 tubes of high o/p T5. Skimmer is optional for 2ft is you change yr water weekly or less than that.
  4. That's good to hear bro! Looks like you are on the road to recovery...
  5. Chill out and monitor for next 3 days...so long yr corals doing fine, no need so gan cheong... Manwhile, what are the media inside yr cannister compartments?
  6. There are 2 types of Nitrate Reactors - 1. Using sulphur 2. Cultivating bacteria using bioballs inside the reactor (this method is more time consuming) As for PO4 reactor, basically it is using phosphate absorbing/ binding media like rowaphos to reduce phosphate in the water. You can combine 2 reactors...skimz has double chamber reactors. But mind you all these are gonna cost you...decision is yours eventually.
  7. Sorrie bro lemon for diluting yr thread...happened to click on bro wilson's video to check his out... Quite a nice piece of favia actually...hope it recovers under yr TLC.
  8. Yup...place the media inside filter bag..wash a couple of times before you put inside yr cannister...1st or 2nd compartment. Rowaphos or Nitratelock also can. You may also want to get biohome to cultivate bacteria...this is for yr 2nd compartment. If you place in 1st compartment...put it between yr filter wool. It's ok to place yr favia (moon coral) that way...juz that it's kinda in an odd position...no problem..so long it does not topple. Coz mine topple and fell onto my brain and some polyps die due to "war"...and my brain also injured and melted...dun underestimate favia...their toxic quite power one.
  9. Recently, seems to encounter complaints of algae bloom....haha... It's back to the fundamentals...high nutrients + high phosphate + high silicate + lack of flow + lightings = conducive environment for algae growth. Toothbrush is to scrub the algae on yr liverocks so that you dun remove the coraline algae. Gently will do...coz diatoms are easily remove. For the glass walls, you may want to use a scrubber...long enough for u to reach. LFS sells those. If you want branded ones, you can check out reef depot website. End of the day, there's bound to be some level of maintenance...
  10. Btw, I noticed you have a large fire coral there....how long have you kept it? Looks pretty healthy to me...is it growing? Mine din make it...turn brown.
  11. Hi, Nice gems you have there...yr moon coral kinda in an odd position..haha... Dose some nitrifying bacteria to help with yr biological filteration. You can purchase the nitratelock / rowaphos media and place it on the 1st or 2nd compartment of yr cannister. I'm using seachem phosguard...so far so good. (i'm not promoting the brand..just that i m quite satisfied with their additives so far) Cheerios! Dun worry so much bro..LPS and softies can tahan some amt of nitrate so long not consistently high...eventually it will drop once yr bacteria gets cultivated in yr cannister. In fact, some amt of nitrate will "help" yr mishies to bloom...they like some dirt in the water.
  12. Wat soft of LPS you keeping? (otherwise very difficult to advise) Usually hammer, frogspawn and octo, these types...are more light demanding.
  13. That's a watermelon favia alrite....got to feed it in the night, they dun respond to feeding in the day. They dun called it moon coral for no reason...coz they are active only when the moon is out...anyway, i'm juz talking crap.
  14. Yo bro, you got check yr NO3 properly? Any dead stuffs inside yr tank which you dun know about? Any sign of algae bloom or cloudy water...did you smell yr water? does it smell fresh or stale? You got take out one of yr liverock to smell...sometimes due to dead custaceans on the rocks during recycling. If you have been changing water, yr nitrate level sure drop one coz you are replacing old water with new water that contains no nitrates. Did you dose nitrifying bacteria ?... coz u have been changing water....current bacteria in yr tank could have die off causing spike in nitrates and phosphates. All the best !
  15. cannot even place beside mushrooms...jialak...then i cannot keep liao.
  16. Saw yr video...cool man you should be a marine biologist... You r passionate...
  17. Yes yes...i saw that too in GO...orange colour with a green dash of colour across...shui...looks like a satellite dish...
  18. GO always have irresistable shipments...cannot go there too often...the force is too powerful...spend all yr money there in less than 3mins.
  19. I dun use chiller... I think you can connect yr o/p from yr cannister to the chiller...just thinking, not too sure abt that. Thanks for yr comment on my acan..i take it as a compliment...interesting colony of acan...not exactly exotic, but easy to take care.
  20. I can imagine how solid yr tank looks now...xenias and frospawns swaying left and right..
