  1. At least it is good under yr care...if you feed them with some meat weekly they will grow quite fast...you can c for yourself how they will expand n consume the small pieces of meat...
  2. Nice tank i must say....you can cut the inlet pipe to make it shorter so that its not so obvious. Also you can use ehiem rubberised pipe to replace the plastic pipe. If you remove yr anemone, you can put more gems.... LPS and softies doesn't require so much flow as SPS...i think your mushies and prata will not like too much flow.
  3. hahaha...modelling after that guy david sarby fellow"s tank ah...bro u need to do a lot of frequent water changes and changing yr filter wool every week lor...anyway the shiit from yr fishes will be food for the corals..
  4. I saw yr comments on another reefer's thread by donaldcoolwater... I used a weipro before...that's is the skimmer's performance...very little skimate in a long time...n yr nitrate is high...because the skimmer is not effectively collecting organic waste. One solution for you since you are budget tight...change yr water often...like 10% every 3 days...to compensate yr skimmer's performance...while you save up for a better skimmer. decision is yours bro.. all the best!
  5. I think is more than that....look at the amount of fishes and corals inside there....probably a customised skimmer that is as big as an oil tank.... At least $500k everything in... I checked out Reef Central this month TOTM...this fellow uses his basement for his sump...this is crazy http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2009-03/totm/index.php (Sorry for side tracking...getting deep in this topic... ) hehe
  6. You cannot judge based on price alone....if you get a weipro 2011...you need a powerful pump to drive it...in the end..it cost you close to $200 with the pump...and BM is using needlewheel...much more effective than venturi models. SKIMZ is expensive as it has its reasons...aquabee needlewheel pump and quality solid acylic material. Dymax is not too bad...but i will not use their pump...if use ehiem or aquabee to drive it will be much better....(speaking from experience) Dymax pump is way too noisy and too much vibration.
  7. i wonder can put prata side by side with brain? or brain with another brain side by side? hm...
  8. yes...there's one with skeleton exposed and one more below also ...but acan easier to recover..feed them with some minced meat like fish or prawns in the night when their tentacles are out...personally i prefer to feed them fish.
  9. Wow ....how you managed to squeeze everything into yr sump...neat and compact sia...that means basically yr skimmer is the only form of filteration? or is there somthing behind the skimmer i din notice
  10. Wow!!! i want that too! haha...shui sia...imagine a whole rock full of these...wah pia eh...no need to sleep liao... sad to hear abt yr baby cardinals
  11. For yr current livestocks, it's enough....but for better growth...MH...perhaps when u upgrade yr stocks or tank. But if use MH, then must get chiller...if not u end up having soup.
  12. Wow...is that a hybrid between a favia and acan?
  13. They dun call it Macro anymore...now the brand is called Dymax. Dymax pump is so so....very noisy...after a while lots of vibration. Another skimmer brand you can look for is Reef Octopus and BM (Bubble Magus) which Jiireh Marine carries. Weipro 2014...china brand..around $70plus but w/o pump...so if you add an aquabee or ehiem pump, $200 plus altogether.
  14. those acans and chalice are WOW!!!
  15. Oops!..haha..i tot he's american...hehe..blunder there...
  16. Americans are crazy reef bastaards..lolx...spending $$$ x $$$ on their hobby.
  17. Magnesium will help to maintain yr calcium level. Some strontium will also help..but that's optional. Strontium is also supplementary for LPS corals. Lower pH means lesser toxic ammonia while maintaining yr temp at 27-28. So long yr pH is stable. Too much fluctuations your corals will kaput...
  18. They dun call him the EMPEROR for nothing...one of my fav angel...a well respected fish
  19. Its normal to drop in the night. takes 2-3 days for ph to increase after adding buffer.
  20. looks like some sh@#t in the water is beneficial...
  21. simply wow yr suns are propagating!!! amazing....
  22. I'M YOUTH! haha...i think J&J aquarium bo liao...
  23. i have tried reefmax...you can get them to offer yr corals a variety of food...so long dun overfeed...i m using rotifer right now with kent marine phyplankton and coral accent...n occasionally chopped meat for my acan and favia...
