i wd suggest getting rid of yr boyu skimmer and attached a surface skimmer to yr cannister instead. That skimmer is not gonna help remove anything excepting contributing heat to your tank since your bioload is low. If you concern about nutrients building up, either you change yr water regularly or you get a hang-on back skimmer like red sea prizm that does a decent job and does not occupy space inside yr tank. You can get a second hand one from some reefers over here.

Some nitrate is good for mushrooms and yr LPS...they need some nutrients..unless u intend to keep lots of SPS. For yr nano size, you have to do alternate day 5% water change instead of weekly 10%-20% water change as this will cause the water parameters and temp to change drastically.

yes, they are blossoming very night once they smell food...have trained them to eat fish and prawn meat. but, will be getting frozen mysis for them coz too many heads liao....hope to turn them into super suns!

JBJ surface skimmer cost around $13-$15 and Ehiem one is around $20 plus. Jacky is fast and smart...cho first...you got ask him transfer money to you first or not...hahaha
