Selling the above light for $30 together with 1 brand new Blue/White 2FT PL tube. (AquaZonic) Light come along with 2 adjustable stand for support. Decided to sell away after discovering the white/white tube cannot be changed, hence, i just bought another blue/white light from another fellow reefer. Used for about 2mths+

sparks1107 replied to Creetin's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
thanks bro. collected. pretty happy to snatch this good deal. sorry to keep u waiting just now and have to u for selling at $50 instead of taking my $55 offer! thanks! -
Bought a new zoas last sunday and nitrite somehow spiked, caused 5 of my fishes to die. Think im still too noob at reefing, after building my tank for several months, hope more senior reefers can share their knowledge and experience with me. Just threw away my goniopora coral (part of it is already dead) and my bubble (has not opened up for days already). So heartpain when i threw them inside the plastic bag My current livestock in my 2ft tank is only my 4days true percula & cardinal that has not eaten anything till now, but has survived despite the NO2 spike. Other than that i still have a starfish, 1 clam, 1 sun coral and couple of invertibrates. Now im gonna just recycle my tank for another 2weeks probably changing 10% of my water weekly till i start getting livestocks. My coral wishlists are as follow: bubble coral, zoas, torch coral & hammer coral. (probably these few hardys) Got afew questions that i wanna ask u guys 1: is it ok to overdose my API stress zyme (bacteria booster)? 2: what are the neccessary test kits that are needed to keep those corals i mentioned and few fishes? 3: what is the main reason there's a nitrite spike after i introduce zoas to my tank? insufficient bacteria? what should i do to prevent this again? 4: why is my healthy bubble that i brought from pasir ris fish farm not opening after blooming for the 1st few days? Hope to get some replies soon so that i can start reefing happily again

LFS BIG UPDATE 1st feb to 10th feb
sparks1107 replied to yikai's topic in Weekly LFS Stocks Report / LFS Info Centre
wheres GO? -
the top part had closed polyps.. and theres abit of smell as well i think part of it is dying.. should i remove it? but the rest of the polyps are still opening.
-
guys my goniopora coral is letting off something like pooing constantly after i did a algae scrap on my tank is it dying? shld i remove it? (URGENT)
-
haha nice.. how much u bought it for? i saw one damn nice one going at $35 the other day. its in the owner's display tank haha tempting!
-
awesome! thanks for the trouble of taking those pics. will keep a look out for them the next time i visit fish farm.
-
haha thanks dude. i saw some clavularia at fish farm too. tempted to buy actually lol. are they hardy? u got pics for ur clavularia?
-
alright. will keep a look out at zoos and mushrooms. thanks anyway, sounds like u're a coral specialist haha.
-
ok will take note. just went to check my temp is 26-27degrees under sunlight. SG is under the green zone of the floating thermometer. as for the activated carbon, i had one small black bag recently, threw it away after using it for some time. should i get a new carbon bag soon? i placed in in between my filter media previously. (btw white filter wools and the blue one) is bubble easy to keep? was thinking of getting one cause the shopkeeper told me its quite easy to keep.

maybe i should buy fishes from LFS and try to see if they can manage to survive. anyway, u guys got the previous topic with all the marine shops in sg for google map?
-
ok points taken. i would also prefer to buy fishes from LFS but the prices usually way too ex compared to fish farms. (1 pair of clowns can cost up to $12 whereas u can buy at $1 each at farms) so if the pair i bought for $12 die off more heartpain! haha. hows the pricings at henry's? or is there any LFS providing fishes with good health at reasonable prices? never buy fishes from LFS before. all the other fishes i bought are from fish farm. poor health might be one of the reasons y they die also. well, the tanks at fish farms are used by many different batches of fishes before so theres bound to have fishes dying in the tank at least once. i normally go pasir ris fish farm during the weekends so the stock are already there for at least 3-4 days. is that long enough? anything longer than that u'll have to buy those fishes with broken fins cause the rest are grabbed up by other buyers! haha i dont have the luxury of affording another qurantine tank haha! im just a poor NSF

different foods? like? im only feeding pellets and frozen shrimp. anything else?
-
alright. will get a ammonia test kit tml. actually i dont re arrange my LR for very long time. think the only changes i make to my tank is topping up of evaporated water once every few days and scrapping of algae weekly other than that is just pure feeding of pellets or frozen mysis shrimps. was thinking of getting garlic guard for pellets feeding. will it increase my fishes immune system? thanks guys for all the feedbacks and comments!
-
as for the water flow of my tank, should i lower it at night and put to max in the morning? or its just the higher the flow rate, the better it is for the tank?
-
ok. will buy a ammonia test kit soon and take regular pH test. any other test kits i should buy? one of the bottles can increase the biological filtration. hopefully its working on it. hopefully, my fishes will survive with it. thanks guys!
-
ya i think some of the fishes do encounter these few symptoms. was thinking of a way to pharse them. nice descriptions i think i better go get ammonia test kits. how do i have to maintain ammonia at 0? changing of water? or is there a solution to decrease it? whats the reason for the increase in ammonia? and how often does the pH drop?
-
im using the pH buffer that maintains at 8.3 so i assume that my pH is ard 8.3 as for SG, im using the floating thermometer that measures the SG as well. it falls under the safe green zone. nitrite is 0 cos tank is already up for quite some time already. will there be a spike in nitrite if i add in corals? these are the water parameters that i measure. i miss out on anything thats impt and might cause the death of my fishes?
