maybe its the high level of nitrate since bro ray pointed that changing of the media wont affect. i tried playing around with the sand to cover the brown algae. think changing of water can reduce/maintain the algae from growing. but whats there already there. saw my algae blenny pecking on those brown sands as well. so it should be the high level of nitrate that caused the algae bloom in the sand. any casualty in your tank yet?

same happened to my sandbed recently. did u just introduce phosphate media like i did? i suspect its the anti-phosphate spills from the bag. donno whether is it harmful though. afew of my fishes died after having this. not sure whether its my water condition or because of the sandbed. anything happened to your tank yet?

been using Oceanic for few mths now. didnt check the water parameters for it, but doing good for me so far. and the solubility is very good. dissolved everything in less than a min after using my hands to stir in the pail.

ah beng has lots of this. its very hardy! managed to survive several disasters of my tank. haha

tip is to only house 1 pair! haha. think its not easy to house 2pairs if they fight.

well, dont think its user-friendly to use distilled water lol. gonna cost a bomb in the long run! have to make do with tap-water. actually can tell its slowly to come back already. think have to do frequent changing of phosphate media if i dont have reactor. can rowa be used in the same way like my bag of phosphate media? (which is to place side by side with my activated carbon) or do i have to get a reactor in order to use rowa?

alright thanks. glad to say that my phosphate media worked wonder.. so many nusiance algae gone. and my LR are no longer coated with those dark greenish algae. think after 2-3mths ill just remove it and see if they'll come back. if not ill just make do with just activated carbon.
