My fire shrimps are from ML... no problems at all leh... Dun noe why the CS i got from LCK 1** like tat?? But anyone experince those dark black spots on the CS b4?? Why like tat?

Hi Guys, I bought 2 CS from LCK 1** bout a week ago. 2 days ago, one died. Realised that it was as active as the other one and has stopped feeding. Now, I realised that the other one has this black patches on its shell. Is it some disease?? Test my water and everything looks normal. Nritrates abit high @ 25mg/l. Tank is 5 weeks old and has the following, 2 X fire shrimp (Both very lively) 2 X clowns 1 X Yellow Tang some zoos and srooms. One leather toadstool ( is this the cause?) Bought it and my shrimps like become weaker liao. Please advise

Hwy terry, I went yesterday... Only see see look look.. No $$ to buy leh.. Tank only 4 weeks old. I go LFSing @ tat area (CF, LCK110 etc ) very often. Dear all, Guess my cycling should be ready in about a week time. However, I am feeling abit loss on what to do next.. hmm.. Funny rite. Normally i guess ppl will be like "yeh finally can add LS liao". However, I want to know what another stuff is needed when LS is added? (Eg: what kinda food for fishes, nutrients for corals) Dun wish to go seek advise from the LFS cos feel that they might be trying to earn more from u and ask u to buy those useless stuff. I intend to do a mix tank of softies and some LPS so what would u guys could advise me in buying to upgrade my hardware. (Calcium reactor is needed anot?, Dosing of kalk? Pls advise) Tks guys for taking time to read all my untidy postings...

Hey tks razo.. Did a querry on pods and up abit on it.. but found out that there are good and bad comments on them. This is what i gathered, Pls correct mi if i am wrong: Pods is good for food source. Pods indicate ur water condition is fine Pods disturb ur buttons and make them cant open nicely. So are they good anot?? Do i have to remove them?? Pls advise? Tks

Hi Ppl, Just an update. Current tank mates. Couple of snails and 2 frags of Zoos. (To test water one) So far so good. However, got one of my cowrie disappear.. hmmm cannot find. Notice that my tank now has a lot of small white (dunnoe what) on my tank. When my snails happily eating near them, they swim or jump away. May i noe what are those?? It looks like 'Lices' Are they harmful?? Can take a pic cos they are too small liao. Anyway intend to but my first fish this weekend. Anyone can recommend a hardy fish. I intend to keep the following in future. 2 X Percula clown or maroon clown 1X Yellow tang 1 X Flame angel maybe some schooling fishes... Anyone can advise if the above will have difficulty keeping together in a 3 footer. And if they are hard to keep? Any webby to find out more about keeping fishes and corals?? (Eg: what to feed? what they need?) So far only read about how to start up a tank only. un wish to see fishes die in my hands.. Tks JL

Hmmm... got 3 kinds there. I bought one each. From the reciept, think they are Trochus (aka turbo??), Nerite and Cowrie. Got a question though hope the experts can help. I bought the Cowrie but till now cannot find it in my tank liao. Found out that they are nocturnal but should at least see it moving about rite? Is it dead? Anyone has any experiences with them?? How many snails are needed in a tank about 3 feet? These snails are the first "living things" that are introduced into my tank, can;t help but look at them the whole night when i am back from work... hahah GOT to admit they are real interesting! ahha anyone agrees?? JL

Hi PpL.. Was at CF today and saw this cucumber that looks like those black ones found in ML. However, it is pink on the top. Anyone can tell mi if it is the same?? Does it does the same work as the black kind. My tank has a lot of dirt due to mi placing the uncured LR with out scrubing them. Will the cucumber eat them up?? Can I place them in my tank now?? 3 week cycling starts tomz.. but my ammonia and NO2 already 0 liao. NO3 a bit high though @ 20++ Tks JL

I just came back from CF and bought 3 snails. According to the fellow there, if we pull the snail too hard, the shell might come off. He then proceed to teach mi how to pick one up with ease. He then twist the shell and the snail relased from the glass easliy. No need to use strenght at all. (This is how the fellow from CF show mi one.. i try it at home when i put my snail in too... it detached at ease. HOWEVER!!!!!!! if ur snail die while trying the above .... PLS dun come and ask mi to buy u a snail back kkk... HEHEHE!!! JL

Hey guys, I did a water check again. NH3/4 = 0 NO2 = 0 same as the colour when i test with tap water as adviced NO3 = 25 (Is it too high? How do i lower it??) If I were to really want to add something into my tank to test the water?? What do u guys recommend?? Damsels are out pls, dun want to find trouble... Are snails okay to be added in now?? I see algae (Green hairy type) growing liao. Which type of snails is recommended? where can i find them?? What about shrimps? I have seen some reefers adding them as first rite?? Thanks JL

Hi Dispar, Like i mentioned, the chiller is switched on almost 12 hours a day..(Mom is gona kill me when she sees the electric bill.) haha. It only stops when i return home and switch on my room aircon. However, I am getting a second hand Teco chiller soon. Think it is a 1/2 hp one. Tks for the advice. Anyway, Wana to check with u guys if the exhaust form the chillers?? Is it harmful?? Dun noe whetther placing the chiller in my aircon bedroom and mi sleeping in it will do harm to me anot?? JL
