After so long, finally decided to start a thread on my office nano tank. Well, the whole idea of starting a marine tank started off when I was impressed and mesmerized by bro peacemaker's office tank thread few years back. So when he posted his 1ft IOS tank for sale, I grabbed that and started my own nano tank journey. Soon, the 1ft tank is no longer big enough for me, so I got myself a custom built 1.5ft cube that comes with an overhead filter with refugium. Here's how it looked: But after getting this tank, super regret because I've built the height too high. My light at that time wasn't strong enough and the overhead filter blocked the light towards the end of the tank. So only the front part of the tank is lit. Scratched my head for very long. After some time, decided to upgrade my light and got myself a Maxspect 60W LED from Irwana. And one underwater light to put under the OHF and one more normal light to squeeze in behind the tank. Made the whole tank abit brighter but the second half of the tank still not bright enough for corals. Haha...that's why never like to take full tank shots. Because the tank looks empty with second half not filled with anything.

Hi bro & sis, I have one Ric that is falling off from its 'colony' to let go (see pic below)(squeezed off the rock). Color is orange and blue/purple and size is around 50cent coin bah. Originally bought from GO and has since split into so many of them. Got one similar piece that fell off last Oct and by now, has already split into 3 Rics. Am looking at $30 for this piece. Bro, I've checked the salinity after calibrating the refractometer. Reading is 1.025. Ok, right? I'm now willing to try anything, man. Just bot a sump tank from a bro here. Now finding overflow box. So I'm open to vitamin C n oyster feast too.

Ok, thank you. Currently, I'm only dosing Seachem Reef Plus concentrated vitamin and amino acids supplement and Kent Marine Tech I.

Btw I took bro Titan's advice n seal up the nuisance Paly's with epoxy. See that white patch in the above pic. With my fav zoa dying, only thing comforting is, my ric colony still doing great n the runaway piece has by now split into 3.

One more month has past and here's what's left of the zoas. Once the shrinking starts, it'll be accelerated die off for the colony. Don't know how to stop the decline.

Btw, here's what's left of all the zoas I had 4 months ago. Either the colony shrink and algae took over or the algae caused the colony to shrink.

Hi bro/sis, need an advice here. Kindly refer pic below. The green palys have spread to another rock (somehow). When I saw the first polyp, I squashed it with a long chopstick. But it came back strong with another few polyps. May I know how can I remove them effectively because I don't want it to colonize that rock? I kind of like my blue star polyps there. If possible, I try not move the rock they are on because it is the foundation of my rocks above. Is using pen knife to cut them off good enough?

Thanks bro! Guess points 1 & 2 are prime suspect for my disappearing zoas. Few months passed. All I have left are the colonies from Ah Beng and one rock from bro Copperband. Rest disappeared slowly... And the green palys continue it's spread. Anyone interested to have some frags of it? I have two small frags (3-4 polyps) that broke off from its main colony because it outgrew the rock it's on. But be warned though. Haha...

Hi bro, my apologies for taking so long to reply. Has been really busy. No time to update. No time to take pictures too. As for blue star polyps, they came as hitchhikers (I think). Just appeared in one of the rocks and then it started its tank conquering campaign. Judging from the rate my zoas are dying off and them spreading like wild fire, I guess they are easy to keep. ;-)

Don't know leh. Don't know how they fertilize the eggs, before laying or after. If before laying them, then still got chance it was fertilized in the shop.

Hoho great! Though I don't place any hope of the young surviving wif so many predators around, still happy to see the eggs. Already very happy to see the crab still surviving. Now with eggs somemore. Double happiness. Haha...

Hi bros & sis, When I was gluing back one of my rocks that fell off the main structure, I found my pom pom crab hiding under it (ok, the rock has dropped off for 2-3 weeks liao). So happy because I have never seen this crab after the first day I bought it like 1-2 months ago. Ok, that's not the point. The topic here is, are these eggs that the crab is carrying underneath it? The red thing at the bottom. Looks like it hor?
