My experience with Biospheres, they will disintegrate slowly until gone while removing NO3. You can replace new biospheres to ensure sufficient biospheres to tackle your NO3.

suggest you feed small amount but twice a day rather than feeding pallets every alternate day. A hungry fish is an angry fish!!!! LOL.

Just my logical thinking, they can be in a school in the wild as there are vast space and big ocean with natural predator. Schooling is a natural behavior for some fishes as it protects them from their prey. However, when they are captive in a tank, space becomes restricted, there are no longer natural predator present, and hence slowly every individual fish will try to territorise their own territory. Thus, the end result will be fighting among themselves until the number of fishes where space is sufficient for. Make sense? This is just my obervation from watching Discover Channels and Animal Planets.

IMHO, do a 10% water change and adjust your PH to 8.3 or so before putting in any LS. Also, add LS minimally and not a sudden increase as this would create imbalance to the parameters again due to nutrients exporting and absorbtion.
