  1. Ok, yours definitely bigger than mine!!! LOL Think u need big butterfly fish to deal with them. Someone taught me to cut the aip so that the butterfly can then eat it in pieces, but may risk having more aip if these flesh float elsewhere n not being eaten. Yes, joe juice n other chem wont work on big ones, unless you are pumping alot to just one aip. I notice how the aip melts apart when injected.... so u need alot to ensure all the flesh r melted before u stop injecting. so far, i left with only few large ones which are hidden n hard to reach.
  2. Yes, mine was a peppermint shrimp, the hunter being hunted instead!!!! But benefit of doubts, I wont know if the ps was already dead or not. Got a klein butterfly from ah beng, cheap cheap n it really clear quite alot of my aiptasia, but will still leave those large ones alone.... mayb too large for their liking, like old chicken, meat too hard to eat liao.
  3. Thks to those who pm me, just to make things clearer. I am looking for one with 3 Blue and 2 white (60 degree lens, 40 degree lens can consider also). My budget is around $100 only. If you have something similar please do PM me. Thanks again.
  4. Plenty of them in my tank too... but will suck some out during my weekly WC to control the population... They are good scavanger for leftover food.
  5. Holder not a concern, just looking for a 2nd hand Par38.....
  6. yes and I did tat not long ago.... luckily its only an IQ3...
  7. Anyone thinking of upgrading and letting go the above-mentioned?
  8. Thumbs up for u!!!! Like the cube more than your previous setup... envy.
  9. Saw some at CF... not too sure still have any left. Best to call auntie first.
  10. provided can trap it also... thks for the thoughts.
  11. U want to let go of your Tahitian Butterfly to me? Like that you no need to worry about it nipping on your LPS and zoas... I now trying seagrass file fish, also known to be aip busters, but so far not showing any interest in my aip, mayb my aip are too huge for it's liking...!!!
  12. Lucky u.... I had shifted my IQ3 back home since I changed my job and the new place do not allow fish tanks... haha.. now my IQ3 become treatment tank for my zoas with aiptasia... having aipt outbreak for my main tank until I want to give up n reset everything... sigh.
  13. Not too practical to save electricity only to end with dead corals and putting more $$ to buy new ones. Would suggest you keep your temp consistent.... chiller to kick in when reaches 28.5C or so. Topping up corals are more expensive than your monthly electrical bill.... if you want to save electricity cost, then just go for soft corals like mushrooms, zoas..... they can still do pretty ok for 29C. But not to underesitmate the cost of such corals, it can cost hundreds too for a few nice ones..... Fish wise, I would keep it to 5 or max 7 fishes that will not grow more than 3 inches. Hope this gives you a direction in keeping your fish/corals with your setup. Enjoy reefing.
  14. Believe it or not... one of my peppermint shrimp were eaten by my aiptasia!!!! Reach home after work only to see the shrimp in the extented trunk of the pest!!!! The hunter being hunted instead.... how irony can nature be.... but to be frank, the aiptasia is quite a huge one, the diameter of a 10cent coin size. May have to go back to Joe Juice instead.....
  15. haha, almost every weekend sure will wear to go in-law's house or other gatherings.... I not much t-shirt to wear la, cos I dun like paying so much $$$ for a polo t which helps to promote other people's brand/name.... but to promote hobbies esp RESPONSIBLE REEF KEEPING is more meaningful.... No worries, shall wait for the next round when the interest is there. Cheers for now.
  16. yes as long as the fish is coming out to feed, there is good chance. But once the fish is hiding and not so keen to feed, that is medication for me.... but when fish totally ignore everything this is when most likely gone (based on my observation to share with everyone).
  17. sorry now then remember I still owe everyone a feedback. Yes, the product works, did cure my chalk basslet from the popeye... however the popeye return after 2 months and this time round, I was too slow to detect it and by the time I dose the medication, too late. However, it did work during the first round when I detected the popeye earlier. Now, there might be a cause for this which needs to rectify, if not, dosing the medication only treat the symptom but not the cause. Hope my experience helps.
  18. Anymore coming up? Mine from first round, wear until colour starts to fade liao n one of the buttons also dropping out soon... hehehe... see how much i wear my SRC t-shirt....
