What is the actual cost of owning a car in Singapore ?
mitlancer replied to Nalin's topic in General Reefkeeping_
oh, i think the bros forgot one very important cost contributor, CARPARKING cost... unless u stay landed property and own your own office space... (which i doubt so, if not, no need to do this calculation liao) HDB non-cover $62/mth covered MSCP $$90+/mth office car park depending area, if town, good luck to you, easily >$200/mth then u go shopping, between $1.20 to $2.20/hour.... If married, think combine monthly salary of $7-8k will be very comfortable to own a car. If single, at least $3.5-4k/mth to be safe..... Of cos, u can always have a choice of getting an OPC, straight $17k rebate when you buy new car.... makes owning more affordable but inconvenient cos time restriction for free usage.... win some lose some.... : ) -

I have a one day old china made wave maker... SUNSUN brand, bought yesterday, 23 July but the pump is too strong for my small little tank, so have to sell off or trade. Bought at $26 and letting go at $23. Pump flowrate is 5000l/hr. Magnate holder is pretty strong, good for glass thickness up to 15mm. If you have a smaller one and is not too old (brand or no brand can nego to top up) around 1000L/hr, can trade with me. Thanks, please call me at 8200 5489 to arrange. No kite flyer or aeroplane pls. Sorry, i not in design softwares so can't do a pic out, but hope my wordys description can say the picture. : ) -

Longest surviving Clown, Boxer Shrimp and Blastos (not in a good shape but was even worse previously).... Does my BT looks like suffering from ICK/ICH? Chromis under camouflage against the background. Cleaner Shrimp hiding under the LR... hard to capture a pic. -

Had done a re-scaping since and now plenty of holes n hidding areas for the fishes.... Trying to keep it as simple and neat as possible... Right Tank View, Left Tank View, Centre View -

Coming Soon.... After months of reservist, work n new born..... left with only percular clown, BT, chromis, boxer shrimp, and cleaner shrimp. Currently doing weekly 20% NSW change, with Reefmax A B C D E. Existing problem: - Ich - Nitrate Upcoming project: - Algae Scrubber - experimenting on how to make my ice cubes last longer.... include metal rod in the ice cube, oil as the medium, etc...... -
wow, bro, your tank still as wonderful as before. Mine gone after months of negligence due to Reservist, work n newborn baby.... sigh. But I am coming back again. Now trying to revive my one and only blasto left surviving from the months of suffering.... bleached liao but recently doing weekly water change, dosing calcium, stronium, iodine n continue to throw in cubes of ice to keep the water cool and can see some spots of coloration coming back.... really hope I can save it. But another problem, ich.... my blue tang has been suffering and i can see it rubbing against the LR every now n then. Dosing anti-oxidant and bacteria to hope it get cure, feeding with seaweed dipped in garlic too.... Well, looking at your tank, I m now again inspired. Will also be doing up a algae scrubber since my wall mount cant have any skimmer (the last time one did work but still consume too much space and water splashing out..... also i m toying at the idea of how to slow down ice cube from melting so fast, using various fluid...

Nice concept but not going to be feasible in my humble opinion. I having a wall mount tank, go n look at Member's tank. You will know what i mean then. Too many limitations, so this hobby is going to be extremely challenging and usually won't have good results.. BUT, I am still "hanging" on.... hahaha

Wah, must salute you!!! No chiller and just a filter and fan, n u manage to keep your corals happy. I have similar configuration as yours, but my corals can't be so happy. Any secret to share? I must learn from you. Let's share tips??

Hi bro, from my understanding, iceprobe is to extract the heat out from your water. Correct me if I'm wrong. So if your chiller is kicking in, I dun think iceprobe can do much. Just stick to chiller or remove chiller and installed 2 iceprobes (depend how big your tank is). Iceprobe will be good for those 20gallons nano without chillers.
