My is 1x Carbon and 2x resin.. 3 stages. Yes, the resin come with low and higher grade.. if I am not wrong, the higher grade one cost around $30 per resin.. Where you stay bro.. you can borrow my TDS meter.. My TDS can go higher than 400 when measure direct on the Mix Salt water.. Hmm ???

I have started the 3 stage about 1.5 months ago and I change water around twice a week, about a red pile. I dun control the flowrate and just turn to max. My tape water output is around 40+ and after filter, it drop to less than 1 or 0. Maybe you discard let the water in the container if left for long time and remeasure again...???
