  1. thanks. rite now I have combine the rest except calcium. let's see wat happens.
  2. Well, from my own personal experience -> newbies r always misled by some irresponsible LFS. That why they jumped into in without knowing much thinking it is as simple as freshwater. Then end up in deep shit & come to SRC for help. I was lucky!!! Accidentally got to know tis website while searching for more info in the net b4 I start. So when I bump into some newbies at LFS (as they were asking basic questions).....I pass them SRC web address. As for the old birds, they'll get sick of answering the same questions again & again! I was formally from some car forum (no need to guess, can tell from my login name) and now seldom go in as it would become v mudane. HERE WE GO AGAIN, SAME OLD SHIT AGAIN......juz like BMT.
  3. yup, shouldn't be any problem. saw a few times at Halus.
  4. u can try tis shop. I bot mine there 2 weeks ago. Plantas Aquaticas 76 Horne Road Alan Tan 6296 8218 My former lobang for plant tank!!!
  5. if it is white patch & not small little white dots (ich), then it should be clownfish disease. Good luck as not many will survive from it....i lost my T perculas to tis disease as well. Medication -> u can try Waterlife Octozin.
  6. Hihi, I would like to know if I can mix all the additives (idoide, strontium, trace elements, calcium) together in 1 DIY drip. Currently, I have a few & could like to combine them together as it looks messy & also troublesome having so many drips. Please advise what can be mixed together & what can't be combined?
  7. u r lucky man. I only got 1 white sea slug that came with my blue sponge. But be careful, mine is grwoing fast & i bot another blue sponge to make sure he has enough to eat. It will be danagerous if the sea slugs die in ur tank. May cause your tank to crash.
  8. I have 2 sea slugs. My white sea slug is always feeding on the blue sponge. My purple sea slug doesn't like it but it seems to be feeding on the algae on my glass (3 weeks liao still surviving). u can try buying the blue sponge at Lorong Halus.
  9. Any updates on the stocks available? Thanks.
  10. Should be able to last 3mths depending on ur bio load. Best is to test the water quality. If it ammonia & nitrite starts to build up, it is time to change. However, if ur tank is mature & running well, even if the carbon is used up, NH3 & NO2 should be undetectable as well. So u should take it out after 3 mths.
  11. my pair of true percula from CF also die. Female 1st followed by the male. No idea why the male died as I didn't see any spots or disease. Wonder why, so many people suffered the same fade. Is true perula harder to keep?
  12. LR r too big to go in & doubt it will survive in the cannister. I suggest, go get Sea Chem ~ Matrix. It is meant to be put into canister & is acts as a natural breakdown for ammonia, nitrite & nitrate as it is said to be large areas for bacteria.
  13. in tis case, ur chiller may be spoilt. Is it new?
  14. cool...i like the valley concept. but my my 2ft tank is too small to do it. Cheers bro.
  15. From wat u said the chiller should start running & cold down the tank. Ok. why not we start from the beginning. Off the chiller & restart it & follow the below steps. 1. sync the temp of the tank & chiller. - Remember the temp of ur chiller. now press the set button for 10 secs until the display shows CA. Now u can sync the chiller temp by pressing + or - (if chiller is initially showing 28 & the tank is 30, then u press + twice until the display shows +2). - press the set button for about 3 sec & the chiller temp will be set - wait for a few secs, the chiller display temp will change from 28 to 30 2. set the desire temp - press set & set the desire temp 3. Chiller power light should light up & slowly the chiller light will also light up & u can hear the fan running. Guess within 1-2hrs, it should cool down the water. Hint : use a blue plastic hose shown below to adjust the flows. Sometimes, it could be ur water flows r to fast too be cool down effectively & the chiller will need to run for a long time. Hint :
  16. I bought the tank from CR Aquarium at $379 (read classified ad) at Tagore lane. It is expensive but so far is one of the best tank that I have scout around as its sump is located at the back & I like the blue colour background. If u have the sump behind the tank, the other manufacturers can only use dark glass & u can still see the filter materials. got small skimmer in the sump that fits in nicely (but no many LFS carry it). Refer to my earlier posting of my sump pics. The chiller is connected to the power head in the last compartment of the sump (3 compartments in total) whereby water is pump into the chiller & runs back to the tank through a blue plastic hose that can control the water flows using the red knob. See pic below. The tank is 2mths plus only.
  17. I'm using Resun too. CL300 & it manage to cool my 24"18"18" tank to 25-26. Think u got to adjust the chiller temp to the same as that in the tank. Could u describe more as ur description is very vague. ie. what is the temp shown on ur chiller & that in the tank (u need to have another digital themormeter in the tank).
  18. Thanks bro. Wat a good info. I'm gonna get u........RED CORIS WRASSE. Here I come.
  19. take it out b4 of the tank b4 u do anything. it will release poison if die or kenna attack. I got 2 in my tanks but so far it just feeds on my blue sponge & algae on the glass. so i left them alone. U may put it up for adoption if there's anyone keeping a slug tank.
  20. probably will put it in my QT to freshen up the tank as it is so empty with only LR & 4 $1 chromis there.
  21. check out the internet liao. u r correct bro. thinking of how to get it out now!
  22. roger.....thanks for the advise. will try to find space.
  23. I got to check it out. thanks. but was told by the LFS it is reef safe!
  24. Yes in fact I got 2. Got a free white baby sea slug that came with my blue sponge! my power head is located in the sump so they won't venture in & die there giving out toxins. Given them blue sponge to feed on but they like to wonder off to the glass.
  25. 1. yup, 2 clams. shifted them up from the sand bed as I'm running PL lights only!! I know I should get better lights like T5 or MH but no money now. That's my next mission. Right now, try to supplement by feeding them directly 2. Thanks. I have a small light which is on 24/7. If u see carefully, it is in a black casing behind the skimmer. 3. I must admit it is small tank for him. But it is so beautiful that I can't resist it. It is a Gold Rim Powder Brown. 4. So far, algae is in control ~ think it is the fern caulpera & the tronchus snails working hard to keep the tank clean. Thanks.
