it's not about who's the best singer............it's who the voters want. can be v v bias. guess, it'll be the same w S'pore idol. think the one with the biggest pocket may win as the population is so small compared to American, can easily influence the results. actually, i prefer to watch the unedited versions, really admire those w guts & no talent going for auditions............................

I'm the next causalty.........my 2 & only clams died too over the weekend. don't know wat happen. 1 had been with me 6mths since I started. anything to do with the temp, my chiller is working overtime & the temp is about 1degree higher than usual at 26. -
If there is also bubbles present then it should be cyanobacteria aka red slime algae. guess u must be over feeding or too many LS. so the bio-load is too high. u should : reduce feeding change 25% water or use red slime remover (if i remember the brand correctly, it should be Ultra Life or Ultra something)

Hihi, the direct link doesn't work. so u need to go to Reef central website then click on RK mag button, click on the pic when loaded. Next click on the past issues button. They have an article on Xenia but they still don't know the reason why Xenia pulsate. IMO, becareful when they stop pulsating, look out for meltdown. My Xenia almost melt after it stops. maybe it is temperature.

Bro....IMHO leave the canister as it is. if u think I-sump is too heavy & I-box is too ex. Then i recommend some of our bros DIY overflow syst (look up the threads here in the DIY forum). It will prevent overflowing & also perform surface skimming.
-
them feed on sponge as well.
-
cleaner shrimps wouldn't eat your clams. they will usually clean it when u 1st intro the clams to ur tank. tis also happen when i bot new fishes. after a while, the cleaner will seldom bother ur clams.
-
agree. IMO it doesn't help much too. better to have macro algae in ref/sump & DSB in ur main tank.

well, since it doesn't go for dead prawn. I'll try putting a dwarf hermit crab in a bottle & see if it is attracted to it. hope it works. Thanks.

Was always wondering how my dwarf hermit crabs & gobies when to. Last week saw a head sticking out of the LR & last nite saw it again at another place. On closer inspection, it is most likely to be a MANTIS SHRIMP although couldn't see its full body........ Help, I got a killer in my tank. How to get it out? use a trap with dead prawn to get out of its hiding place as I dun know which LR is exactly its hiding place. Try looking at the 1st hole that I spotted it, but can't see it leh.

which macroalgea is best for refugium?
Hondace replied to sunnymau's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
I uses fern caulpera too. It's easy to maintain/trim. so far it doesn't goes asexual like my grape caulpera that happened in my QT. I would put as much fern in my sump as I like to keep fishes. IMO it depends on ur bio load rather than tank size. The more fish the more waste & feeding, so u need more fern or marcoalgae. -
becareful. i have one too but it was starve to death...refusing to eat the blue sponge. i threw it away when it is almost dying.
-
any pic? Is it green or brown in colour?

stuff like sea cumumber, sea slug, anemone give out poisonious chemical when they die. If u have powerhead in the main tank...becareful. Go to tis website, it got good advise on wat to keep & how to take care of them. liveaquaria.com
