Well, I had one that has been with me for almost 4 years. Black cucumber. It ever got struck in my wavemaker before when it first arrived, my wife discover early & we have managed to save it. Was injured slightly. No damage incurred. Ever since, it has learnt it's lesson & never venture near the wavemaker again. Today, it's keeping my sandbed very clean & occasionally knocking my corals over. Btw, I has been using carbon in one of my FR then & till today. Don't know whether carbon helps in this case or maybe I am lucky?

Chiller Sold.

Just to add in past history of my 1/10HP chiller which some have ask me about thro' SMS. It was used on my old 3x2x2 feet tank. During then, I had an Ehiem 1260 (65Watt) pump for the chiller, Tunze skimmer 9010 (21Watt), Atman main return pump.(Unknown wattage. Glued to the piping from day 1 by those who deliever the tank. Only know from receipt it's Atman). Tunze mini universal pump(5Watt) for my FR. Tunze wavemaker 6045 (7Watt), Aquabee 1000 (10Watt) for the algae scrubber. Using LED HO lighting. It is performing as expected, temperature setting 27 degC, compressor cuts in at 27.5 degC. It maintains at 27.5 degC with no sign of further increasing and after 10 to 15mins, temperature starts to drop. Untill 26.9 degC, compressor stops. Did not take note of the total time taken from 27.4 to 26.9 degC as it is working fine. Take note of the Wattage of powerhead i used above as they determine which HP is suitable for your applications. Change to 1/4 HP after changing to new tank of 3x2x2 feet as planning to throw in more wavemakers to sitmulate waves. Reason for changing tank is because wooden cabinet bulge. And chiller was serviced not due to any problems but normal routine, using vaccum to blow off dust, dirt from the fins and internal... etc. by their technicians. It has been wiped clean & i have flushed the water inlet with DI water twice after taken of service. It is ready for viewing/ collection by interested parties. Contact thro' my number given above. Hi Bro SM, thanks for sharing with us how to DIY this algae scrubber. After running this for nearly 10 months for my 3 feet, i have not look back since. It has solve my high NO3 & PO4 problem. From >100 to 3mg/L (NO3), >3mg/L to 0.03mg/L (PO4), both using salifert test kit, live rocks covered with red algae to live rocks covered with purple coralline algae, tank with algaes growing everywhere to spotless one, it is really amazing. Thanks for this wonderful info. A short info to others on my setup, dedicated aquabee 1000 to supply water to my vertical screen, 8" by 10" (a bit under size). Took me 1 hours to rough up both sides of the screen. Two 24W Philips Tornado, one on each side running 18hrs a day. Cool daylight. Clean the screen every 5 days. Took me 2 months to see NO3 & PO4 results dropping. No magic here, i follow Bro SM recommendations closely and of course, patience. Good luck to all who wants to give this alternative method a try. Yah, now you reminded me. When I first started off, I only how how to feed NLS food. However, after sometime when i added varying food to my fishes, the colour my fish had, is not as 'bright' as compared to feeding them NLS exclusively. Really puzzled about this.

Rowa is one of the many brands around, a filter media that removes PO4, usually place inside a FR. For photos, you can check out at www.reefdepot.com.sg, under filter media. Apart from Rowa, you can also view some of the other brands for PO4 removal media that this shop carries. Of course, there are also many other good brands around. Different LFS shops might sell different/other brands. For me, I'm happy with Rowa. It is based strictly on personal preferences/positive experiences. Some other reefers might prefer or recommend other brands.

One more thing, if you decide to use the FR out of the sump and the pipings involved are long, you might need to get a better pump instead of this tiny mini pump.

I am using TLF FR ( TWO LITTLE FISH). Hang on the side of my sump tank, out of the water. Manual say can be use up to tank volume of 150 gallon and outside sump tank. Media i use is ROWA. Result not bad. Flowrate required for this FR is ~ 300L/hr, using tunze universal pump, 5W. Got the whole set from reefdepot. Bro, can check out the details at www.reefdepot.com.sg

Hi fellow reefers, would like to clarify one point. After washing the scrubber with tap water, is there a need to get rid of the chlorine that comes with the tap water by again soaking the scrubber in a pail of DI water or tap water treated with water conditioner or just straight away attach back to the tank? Thanks.

One shopkeeper told me it's call 'cauliflower', something like that. Has been in my tank for around 6 mths.

I keep this fish too. When I 1st bought it, it is yellow. However, as it grows bigger, it begins to turn greyish white, although most of it's body remains yellow. Check with some websites, it's normal. However, to be on the safe side, please post some pics for more experienced reefers to confirm.
