  1. Raising your calcium will also lower your KH.
  2. And bring up your calcium further & slowly to 420ppm.
  3. KH 10 is still ok. If u want to lower KH, water change to bring it down slowly. Most important dun let any parameters swing too much. SPS ( Stablity Promotes Success ). Quote from one reefer in reef central. Best way to maintain is using dosing pumps or if a lot of SPS, Calcium Reactor (CR).
  4. Monitor & keep your water parameters as stable as possible, mainly your big 3, Calcium, KH, Magnesium. Check on your pH(ALK) too to ensure they stay well, around 8.3. Run reverse photoperiod for your algae scrubber to minimize ALK fluctuation. And lastly, do u acclimate your SPS before introduction & light acclimation? This two important to reduce stress.
  5. Yah, 6 tubes is sufficent. 8 tubes would juz nice cover up the whole length of the tank (2 ft, ATI lightset) but that would leave no space for your hands to go in & do maint.
  6. Bro shoelevy, yes. IME, zoas & LPS did fare much better under LEDs compare to SPS, growth & colors are better.
  7. Maximum, not including the extra few cm of stand below the skimmer. I am using SM181, my sump level 26cm. After including the extra few cm of stand below the skimmer base, juz nice.
  8. The final decision lies with u. FYI, the yellow wrasse does not do anything when i had an outbreak with these pests few months back. Lost a few precious gems (SPS) due to 'believe that the wrasse can settle everything'. I can only say 'good luck to u'.
  9. Good, keeping them happy is the best we can do. Keep up the good job.
  10. Why not look at another angle? The fishes are safe in our tanks, no need to swim vast distances to look for food & worry about predators. Every time once it is meal time, sure got yummy food drop in. Fot corals, they also can PE all day long without fishes poke at them. Their owners will feed them, maintain constant parameters using the best equipment they can afford. If any of u still want to argue here, then the person who is most fit to do so will be the person who don't keep fishes or reefing as all of us here is guilty of some kind or another based on what had been mentioned above.
  11. One safest solution is to remove all the SPS & dip in coralRX or fauna marin ultra pest removal over a period of time. I don't recommend saliert flatworm exit as this method is very risky unless u know exactly what to do before dosing in. For the eggs, u have to manually remove them.

  13. Acopora Eating Flatworm Worms. Try to google & see whether match your situation or not. One of the nightmares for SPS keepers. Don't play with this one.
  14. Fantasy coral is one of the sponsor here. It is located at bedok.

  17. Quite high up. But orphek is design & built to penetrate deep tanks, so 15" up will still be no problem for it. And of course built, based on PUR. I am a strong believer on PUR than PAR. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  18. The discount are given to regulars who bought stuffs from them regularly. The more u spent, the more discount u will get. The amount of discount u will get in that particular year will be based on your overall total purchase u had made (how much u had spent), in the previous year. I had 10% discount for all my purchase from him for this year too. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2

  20. Bro sunnymau, i am speechless. What u are telling me now regarding the coverage by orphek & other brands will need 2 units is what i had told henry from marinelife yesterday. Yes u are damm right about the numbers of units needed to cover a 3 ft properly. One orphek is enough compared to other brands which will required 2. But the $$$ is what turns me off in the very 1st place. But after seeing your corals pics, i think it is worth that price. But i am comfortable using T5 now. I will wait for orphek next generation lightset. Dun know what will be the name but hopefully it can outperform it precessor, atlantik, something which i am sure it will. Then i shall jump back to LEDs, using orphek. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  21. Bro, u re too humble. Thanks for your advice regarding the T5 tubes combo. My SPS colors are better & their survival rate much higher. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
