5% at a time should be ok & watch out for the reaction from the corals.

Patience is one of the key to success here for lighting especially LED. Go very slow in ramping up your LED settings as corals need time to get used to the increase in intensity. Don't forget LED intensity is very strong. A few percent can be seem, not much to our eyes but do make a lot of differences to these corals. Sometimes bleaching will show up quite late, as long as a week to a month. Take note that some side effects are not immediate (unless very drastic changes are made). Weekly few percent increase will be ok for these little corals.

Words of wisdom, which i agreed with Dr Ang. During tough times, some attributes of a person will be displayed & strengthened. Jus like a chinese saying: In time of chaos, heros will emerge.

The higher settings u set, the higher u should hang your lightset & observe the corals reaction. From there, slowly fine tune further to get the best result.

Is poly filter good for nano tank without skimmer?
brojj replied to jackiee's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Protein skimmers also introduce air into the tanks. That is why marine tanks don't use air pumps & air stones to introduce air like fresh water tanks because the protein skimmers already take care of that. -
Wow.

Which LED lightest will you use?

Btw, forking out $800 for a lightset or equipment is not uncommon in this hobbies, especially if we re talking about 'reliable, trusted, branded, proven' ones. -

I have read up on AI hydra 52. On other forums. More cool whites are put into this lightsets. Those who prefer whiteish lights will like this. For those who prefer more blues, they might stay away from this unless they don't mind to tune the blues to very high & cool whites to very low ( what is the point of getting it in the 1st place if have to tune to so high to get the blues?). -
I dose strontium because it comes with my Part A, ionically balanced mix of Ca, Mg & Strontium. Have been using for arouund 2-3 years. So far no issues of those mentioned above. Sometimes things happen is not due to what we dose in, rather it would be some other factors. IMO, those strontium/ trace elements sold are very low in concentrations & it will not do any harm if we follow the instruction provided. It will also do not do any harm if we stopped. Water changes will be enough to replenish those trace elements & strontium lost thro' marine activities, if done on a regular basis. (Excluding the big 3 which requires daily replenish depending on the tank livestocks). Look at those tanks with regular water changes, those corals colors & Growth are insane. No need to say any more after looking at them.

But LED penetration suppose to be very good, too good that those with success with LED normally hang up quite high from water level. At least 15-20 inches. And normally they tune their lights to blueish, between 14 - 20k.

I changed from LED back to only T5.

Devil's whip is nice. Light green body with dark brown PE.

There are many LEDs that now comes with hyper violets to bring out the colors. Those with only blues & cool whites are older technology already & much cheaper now. But of course, LEDs using only blues & cool whites are not good at bringing out colors of SPS. Soft corals & zoas color are still ok with this old technology.

The pods will survive under normal conditions. Hiding is one of their best defence mechanism to ensure their survival since prehistoric time/ when their very 1st ancestor starts to roam in the sea. It will be their folly to come out & 'party' under lights. The next thing they know while still alive is a predator smiling cheekily next to them. No choice, they are one of those at the bottom of the food chain, regardless whether got fishes or not in your tank. Dun ever think of them coming out & say 'hi' to u.

Should be zetlight ZT 6600.

Fresh&Marine does not have coral plus inside their T5 list. However can contact them and find up whether can get ATI coral plus from them or not.

what type of super glue gel for sps
brojj replied to ReDDeviLs's topic in SPS and Advanced Reefkeepers Forum
BSI, u will not go wrong with this brand. It also provides extra cap & 'head that connects to the tube' in case the 'in use' one accidently got glued together & the cap cannot be open. But so far, no such incident happen. Bonds very fast, around 5-10 sec, from coral frags to frag plug or coral frags to rockwork. The very good quality justify it's price. Never tried big rocks to big rocks yet. I prefer expoy for big rocks. -
anyone got such issue with your Radion light?
brojj replied to LittleBurger's topic in Product Reviews
Yes, they MUST do so. Imagine your SPS gone juz like that. Either i will avoid products that do not have good support or i will keep a spare. These people should know that reefing is a serious hobbies & must produce & sell reliable equipment & must provide fast, good after sales support, in order to keep their business afloat. They should know that better.
