  1. Best is still testing. Based on test, u can roughly know when to change provided no change in bioload. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  2. So bro, have u got them? Hope u share your results here also. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2

This new wavemaker sells like hot cakes. I am also waiting for news. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  4. Something new i learn today. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  5. I got mine already this afternoon. The 3 color elements, ultra Amin & reef vitality. After adding the reef vitality, can see SPS polpys extension within an hour. I was surprised, impressed & disappointed. Surprised by the immediate result, impressed by this product & disappointed on why i did not get them earlier. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  6. The birdnest and monti won't turn white & they re maintaining their color and gain 'mass' after some time. Gain 'mass' meaning they re growing. And outer tissue not peeling off. Your tank also, ideally at least 1 years old. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  7. Sure. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  8. Thks all for the reply. Decided to try their latest products. Will get the 3 color elements tomorrow. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  9. Hi fellow reefers, want to ask whether anybody started using this & any reviews? Have read from other forums that they can notice some improvements after only 2 doses. And also how is the dosing regime like, daily or weekly, how many ml of these additives to tank volume. Thanks in advance. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  10. Yes, it is quite true. I had problem maintaining SPS color. Imagine pink birdnest become pale yellow birdnest. Still growing heathly thro. However, I believe that LED technology will become better & better, hopefully able to maintain SPS colors someday. Meanwhile, I juz take it as err.... a diffferent variations of birdnest loh.
  11. They are nightmares for reefers/ fishkeepers like us. Horrible creatures. Must be careful to see any more of them. Btw, be careful when u handle or trying to catch them. They can attach themselves to humans too & suck our blood.
  12. Coraline algae could be red in color too. Red slime algae looks slimy & soft. If it is hard, then it should be coraline algae. Looks like a mushroom to me.
  13. Using too over-rated skimmer not only overkill, it uses up more electricity & eventually pay more to utilities bill. Skimming will come to a point like what Bro [V]tEc mention, no more skimmate to skim. Skimmer has reached it maximum ability. FYI, no skimmer is 100%, if u search on the internet. That is why there are rowaphos, biopellets being developed to assist further to bring down to near 0 or 0 for NO3. Using overrated means juz add maybe 100 to 200L more to your whole tank & sump volume & consider how much a skimmer can handle based on 'heavy stocking'. Example, my tank and sump volume 400L. I will add 200L, then i will look for a skimmer that can handle up to 600L, based on 'heavy stocking' info given by the manufacturer. Beware of those that give only 'can handle up to 1000L'. No info on heavy stocking. Then i look for reviews on the internet then decided whether to buy or not. I learnt this thro' the hard way after changing skimmer every 8 to 12mths, spending uncessary $. 14. Dun worry too much about the color. I got my NO3 & PO4 down to almost 0 even without whole screen green algae. 4 months was all it takes for my case, from > 100 for NO3 & > 3 for PO4. That time my algae was 50% green, 50% brownish black. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  15. If your nutrient high, you would normally see black brown algae 1st ( like oil slick) which does not help much in removing PO4 & NO3. However they still must be cleaned off. Green black ones will come after your nutrient starts to drop & eventually green ones would come. I took one year to see whole screen green ones. But dun worry, by then your NO3 & PO4 will be low. And different tank different result. Some will be faster. For my case, i feed too much, that is why one year for my case. I fed my fishes 3 times every day. Corals three to four times a week. FYI, i now decomm my ATS & running biopellets already. Juz sharing my past experiences. Good luck to u. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  16. Quite true. Different views. For my side, i dun want the copepods from the refugium to be skim out by protein skimmer. So go skimmer 1st, refugium then copepods from refugium to return to tank to fish stomach. They re food for the fishes. Anyway, up to individual. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  17. Really? What is the secret to keep SPS without changing water for 9 mths? How is the condition of the SPS? Pls share. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  18. I believe that the clownfish are too small to eat any pellets. Mouth still not big enough. Normally ML henry fishes have been train to eat pellets & his frozen gourmet. U can try his frozen food if the clownfish still dun eat the pellets. I got few cleaner wrasse from him before and they do eat his frozen food. They are able to survive for 11 mths. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  19. Thought after protein skimmer should go to refugium then to return? Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  20. Flame angel could well be the cause. Monitor the angel closely. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  21. No u can't. The activated carbon has reached it's maximum adsorption ability unless we heat it up again to around 400-500degC, like what they do during the production of Activated Carbon from normal carbon, which is very troublesome, not economical & no specialized equipment to conduct all the required process. Much much cheaper to get new ones. Washing does not help in this sense. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  22. Should be ok if well fed. I had no issue with mine. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  23. I have tried rabbit fish before & I have never expect it to eat & finish out all my bubble algae within a week. Amazing. Now, it is feeding greedily on pellets.
  24. Return pump is one of the most important equipment in the tank. Better to stick to 'tested' brands.
  25. I have read about Chemipure also. Should be better. U get what you paid for. I will stick to SeaChem for now.
