my first try into setting up a marine tank... not very nice thou.. but first time not bad for a newie like me!!

My tank doesnt have any big bully.. the two crown fish is my first two fish in the tank. Water temp is around 28 to 29. Is swimming at the surface show sign of not enough oxygen in the water ? Do i need to add a air pump to provide some air? What will happen if the water temp goes above 30 degree? Thanks

I recently purchase a pair of clown fish .. but the pair always swim almost near to the surface of the water? why is that so ? not enough oxygen ? There is coral and one anemone and rocks. why the fish is not swimming down and playing?

I am setting up a Canister filter for my marine tank. but i read the posts here and found out that there is a saying of canister filter is a NO3 producer. I am a canister user. i like to find out what media do you guys normally put in your canister? do you still use those bio home etc to cult beneficial bacteria ? What is the recommended medias to put into the canister? eg like coral chip, cabon, etc Thanks

Does this Pilumnus eat starfish ? my sand shifter star seem to be losing theirs leg.. i not sure if is the fault of this crabby.. my tank only got two sand shifter no other fishes inside.

I found this hairy crab hiding in my live rock. Today i managed to break open the rock and took out this little thing. Can help to ID this crab. is it save for my tank ? Thanks

Hi, can help me to id this little thing.. is it a coral or what? sps? lps? hard coral or soft coral Can give me the name of the coral, so i can go find out more details on how to take care of this little thing. Thanks Also, I notice there is these hairy thing that look got legs(quite a few of them, i manage to see 3 legs). dunno is what it has been hiding in one of a hole in my life rock. i did not notice it until i am taking this above pic. then after a while, it hide back into the hole again. no chance to take a pic of the creature. any one know anything? It is a pest? i thin it come together with the rock i buy.
