nice scape...consider adding one or 2 palm size coralline algae covered rocks to "liven" these dead rocks, and to kick start getting these rocks covered with coralline? you scape once coated with coralline will look amazing n more natural..

Tell me why don't you use Algae Scrabber ?
demonsori replied to Xtrader's topic in General Reefkeeping_
You'd need activated carbon definitely... As a yellowish tinge to the water Is typical with all scrubbers... -

y not DE-lighting ? they can ship to you.. the 2 tubes are not that near each other (compared to those 2 tubes sharing one reflector fixtures, and their individual reflectors are good... probably can do up a 3 tube set (purple plus, blue plus and aquablue special)?? coupled with ATI tubes will be best.. u can order tubes and fixtures at one go from them...

so far i had bad experience with aquazonic t5 sets...had 2 both within a month ballast blew... using ati tubes in hopar t5 sets..this set is close to 2 years.. 2 feet is one reflector for 2 tubes... i think i saw single reflectors for 3 ft or 4 ft cant remember..

should be easy...10k lights or below (6500k warm better)....blue will limit growth i put it inside a guppy breeder box and just under the water surface under ATI aquablue special (esimated 11k colour temp) and it's doing great...

so far...i've used only liquid calcium...brightwell or similar concentrated ones... see the calcium sink onto the polyp also helps if u miss the mouth...that is if the aiptasia is in a small hole, place the syringe tip inside the hole and let the calcium flow. thats all i use and nw my tank is aiptasia free...

I personally would find 1" by 1" steel too risky... One tank maker mentioned 4 ft by 2.5 ft by 2.5ft marine with rocks use 6 supports 3" by 1" Nice dimensions for display tank... Y not do up chengai or kapor cabinet?just my opinion...

$85 for aquazonic clip on led, glass tank with cover and hangon filter too exp rite??

Looks like u placing the fans over the lights to me?? Anyways for me the best way to place a cooling fan is at 45 degrees to the water surface... Cools water best.. Visualize the flow of air from the fan.. Allow gaps on the acrylic cover for the hot air blown by the fan to exit the covers... This will very effectively take heat from the lights out from the system... Clip on or screw on sidecof glass saves space too.. For me I dun mind the looks.. If u need can get a hood hide the fan

for me it's water quality... my talbot damsel already had this 3 times... 50% WC and it recovers without any scar or injury..still happy in my tank..
-
just set up grabbing some small pieces from 3 ft tank... testing out the LED to see whether the lighting is sufficient for softies frags to grow.. using palythoas and zoas to see how they stretch compared to being in other tank with T-5s... light has separate switches for blue and white lights...aquazonic...

a skimmer will go a long way... makes algae problems less, lesser WC (not as convenient as WC for freshwater..), most impt, corals will be happier, and you can keep more livestock... unless u planning to only have like 6-8 small fishes no more than 2 inches, and weekly abt 30% WC ?
