To be honest.. i never really cycled my tank since i started keeping marine
I mean, the cycling process is more or less letting the nitrifying bacterial population grow to a size sufficient or in tandem with whatever that needs to be broken down.
If the water is of decent perimeter and the rocks are of good quality, you can almost start off slowly immediately.
Quality rocks as in live rocks.. colonized by nitrifying bacterial... NOTHING ELSE!!
I usually go for those bare rocks left in darkness but cycled for some time.
No worms, no sponges, no nothing else. These hitchhikers more or less die off or poo poo a tonne themselves.
But his rocks look neat !
