  1. That's great ! Hope to see your update with your photography skills on those frags growth journey Will keep the RBM for you
  2. Hi James, my KH usually stays within 8-10 dkh...although my preference is a constant 8 dkh. After seeing your post, i went to measure my water using salifert, kh as at today is 8dkh ( at sg 1.023)
  3. For those who reserved / keen to view on the rainbow mille frags, kindly arrange with me for viewing / collection this weekend
  4. Lol, i thought you already got some blue print drawn up for your back yard balcony ? Can easily fit a David Saxby tank size with ample surround viewing space woh Seriously, i would have consider such a big tank if i got your space.
  5. Very nice placement of corals, color scheme is good A little more red will be a perfect topping
  6. Wow....Lemon.....my mind was like running wild and think of that BIG BIG aquarium while reading you paint the picture...imagine like you say all those angels build nest, spawn and new hybrid !!! Yeah i have watch David's tank for numerous time, very inspiring with so many nice mix of fishes. He has a good blend of schools of yellow splashes (yellow tank mainly) and red color anthias, which makes it very pleasing as a whole. Some very rare fish as well though, but may not have as many of the collection as you have listed. If only some really passionate reefers in singapore who has got a big landed property could build something like him ! Hmm....Ketchup and Desi seems quite fit the profile
  7. Awesome lah bro, planted and marine !!! Fish and Bear's palm --- best of both world Are you gonna put in your ace discuss fish in it ?
  8. Lemon, just wondering there are so many OMG fish U WANT...assuming you have a very very big tank, are you able to keep all those fish in a single tank ? i.e. are all these fish able to co-exist together ?
  9. Hi Terry, i think your method works. It would help the bacterial to concentrate and colonize on the media in a shorter time. But i think during the initial stage, flow should be slow enough so that the bacterial would have a chance to stay within the media compartment as long as possible as long as there are no stagnant , water should not turn foul.
  10. Imo, salifert test kits is good enough for most general reefing needs, of course they are not as digitally precise as say hanna...anyway i have been using salifert for the past 4 years.and most of the time using just the KH test kit alone to ensure my water KH is at the acceptable range. Your tank has low bio-load, so it's easier to up keep blue and purple sps. Never try, never know
  11. There is no need to dose potassium in order to keep a blue color sps. As i have mentioned, my experience points to a low nutrient ( not necessary ultra low nutrient) water condition as a good enough condition for achieving a blue color sps. So far, i have been able to hold blue and purple colors without any use of potassium though it has been widely said that potassium seems to enhance blue coloration. However it is very important to also note that sps tank has been reported crashed as a result of potassium overdose I would suggest avoid potassium dosing for new reefers. Regular water change with a good source of nsw or a good salt mix will be enough to maintain a reasonable level of potassium.
  12. Omg !!! my aussie scoly recovered and restart its journey from a twenty cent coin size. Sooo cute ^^

  13. Lol....you must be kidding lah, Desi shown me one of the humillis that was kept for sometime and showing very nice color. If your tank can retain humillis color, there will be no issue for most of the blue/purple sps
  14. Don't mention Blue and Purple color is generally considered by many experience sps players as one of the most challenging color to hold. In my own experience, nutrient level seems to be one of the most critical factor. I have done some experiment and it seems to be the case i.e. as nutrient level goes up, the blue and purple begins to turn dull. If the nutrient level goes down the reverse happens. Of course, the above nutrient factor holds true provided that sufficient lights are given to these blue or purple sps. Hope this helps
  15. Wow....can't wait to see what's new coming up from you !!!
  16. Haha Frank, thank you for upgrading me to uncle status, but i think am still not up to that prestigious level as yet lah Really sorry to say that both chilli and fire has all sold out, the mother colony now almost botak liao haha however still very welcome you and your CO to come over for kopi
  17. Haha...ok Mike, will get this trip firm up and we go together
  18. That's a good sign that your tank is in healthy mode I am using a CR for my SPS Ca and Alk needs. I only use Kalk occasionally together with my top-off. As for Mg, I rely on my weekly - fortnightly water change to keep the Mg level. CR is very convenient for me, just need to know the trick of tuning and it will be good for a long time till the CO2 runs out. But the balling method now seems to be the trend now as dosing is very easy to manage and the dosing amount can now be done at surgical precision, so i think its a good way for most of the reefers
  19. I am just sooooo glad that you are continuing with your beautiful 6 footer !!! Although feel sorry that your 4 footer has to go, but guess this has been in your mind for sometime and you finally got the right reason to do it.
  20. CFO Sir, you know my timing wat....lol Sms me and shall be a pleasure to receive you and Desi over
  21. Yes bro, shall try to launch both the chilli and RBM next round, look out for it , thanks for your kind support
  22. Thanks bro, wanted to visit your setup but you were busy this month remember ? May be we try to catch up over kopi next week or so when you are more free from work commitment
  23. Just went over to bro Wilson's place for a peep at his gorgeous new tank. I think Wilson has got a very good solution for your skimmer platform, as he is also in the midst of setting up his tank, why not catch up with him over kopi and perhaps he could share some lights with you on some of the things he is employing, may comes useful for your new set up too
  24. Very paiseh bro, next round will try to arrange one for you
