  1. Upzz for the nice zoas you got KK
  2. Not at all Milch, glad to be assistance to your reef garden Btw, from your scaping can tell your tank is full of potential as a great reef tank ! Jia yu !
  3. Nuclear Green is definitely one of the most sort after gem by zoas collectors worldwide. It's unique YELLOWGREEN colouration is seldom been found in any other zoas. The ones shown in CFOh's picture is the authentic Nuclear Green and appears a little greenish, probably caused by the bluelight specturm but overall shows a nice healthy colony of this gem. Congrates to James for finding this gem source
  4. I have also started using Crystal Sea and have done some testing on it. The KH generally is around 8 dKh. Calcium is on the low side of 350ppm and Mag is on the 1000 level which is also a little low. So i buff it up by adding some calclium and magnesium additives. So far so good. Its very difficult to measure the other trace elements, so the only thing you could do is by visual observation on your tank animals. From your sharing, the condition looks alright. If your sps can do well, then most probably the water is fine. Zoas not opening up is usually cause by other factors, most commonly due to irritants such as snails or nudibranch. You neeed to clean them up, or risk loosing them completely. Glad to hear that your SPS doing well
  5. Hi Bro, IMO, it's not about tank size. Since you are using salt mix, then it's obvious that it's the quality of the salt that counts. Good salt mix will stress on the availability of trace elements... Tropic marine pro-reef is just one of the example. If you intend to use other salt mix but not too sure about the availability of trace elements, you might have to manually provide trace elements such as glotech or brightwell. Hope it helps. Cheers
  6. Well done bro for sharing this wonderful piece of thread with us Its sure bring some inspiration !
  7. Well, our expert just said it all I used to spend one solid hour every once a week weeding out these staff, one mark full of them. After introducing sea hare, all gone within 3 days and no longer have any traces of them. Guess i got lucky with the ones that super like them. I can t-loan them to you if you want Err...apology by hijacking hijackng's thread
  8. Bro, for me the pods comes with live rocks or corals. The only thing you need is to have a sanctuary place ( a refugium )for these creatures to thrive without much threat of predators such as fishes. So you can actually go to any LFS and buy a piece of fresh live rock and high chance is you will have live pods instantly. Place them into your refugium, provide some lightings and macro algea and in no time you will have a natural food. If you want faster introduction, then just go get common live copepods will do.
  9. Bro Vincent, go get a sea haire and it should solve your problem within a week.
  10. Bro hahaha, From my personal experience, having a refugium is a good source of natural food for your tank creatures which includes LPS, culture some macro algae and pods over there. Given time, you should have enough food source derive from your refugium that eventually ends up feeding your LPS, so most likely you dont even have to manually feed your LPS at all.
  11. Morning update : Congo Red Hornet and Lights of Amazon - Sold out. African Blue Hornet and Peacock Eye - Limited polyps left.
  12. Great shots and wonderful husbandary skill you have there ! Your careful venture into the SPS has turn out well ...all thanks to bro Klyve
  13. Thank you Tycoon Lee for drawing the sword to help ( bah dao xiang zu ) You are one master of zoas and source of inspiration ! Fragging (especially for zoas) do take some patients and surgical sense to perform a clean cut on the animals to minimise injury and post surgical infection. Sharp vision and a steady hand is a must and unfortunately my eyesight not as good as it used to be liao...siazz ...thats why got to take a much longer time to carry out fragging but most importantly ensure healthy frags are being presented to reefers
  14. Thanks Kiko, hope to see you soon my friend...
  15. Thanks bro for the enquiry, some new sps frags has just been trimmed last week, waiting for them to be healed and stabalise first. Most likely two weeks time
