  1. Yup, this beautiful lady was wheeled in via an ambulance to the Emergency Unit late last night, currently in ICU with close monitoring. After careful acclimatisation, the tissues that were seen dislodge initially seems to have subsided. Now it seems to be in a state of coma, with little but visible tentacle shown. Hopefully it can pull through the next 48 hours of critical stage. Siang, the clinic will have to declare strict regime of "No Disco Lights Allowed" in order the patient can take some rest. Till then, no rock and roll, ( but smoking is still not band as yet )
  2. Actually there are lot's of opportunity to obtain them during SPS shippment here, where lots of such safe acro crabs comes along with their hosting SPS. Some may 'accidentally dislodge from their SPS home and you may wish to ask permission from the LFS and pack them up as freebies TOGETHER WITH YOUR OTHER PURCHASE However whether or not such acro crab has a preferred choice of host SPS family is not certain, i have tried once introducing an acro crab to a certain SPS ( unfortunately i can't recall which type ) and the crab just refuse to take host at it.
  3. OMOM, this is insanely beautiful !!! I think it would be in the same league as with the Peppermint Angel ?! Has it ever ever arrived here ?
  4. Wow...this is cool, a yellow variation scopas tang can almost mimic a yellow hybrid
  5. Very potential a Mystric Sunset, or it could be the Blue Quartz Monti. Hope you can color up the base to it's famous Superman Red
  6. Hi bro, most of the acro crabs are usually safe. They NORMALLY have a mutual beneficial relationship with SPS. However, i do notice a very few acro crabs that are more notorious and seems to be opportunistic feeder on SPS tissues, they usually are very tiny (not more than five cent coin), greyish dard hairy body and comes with a pair of errie white color eye. A photo of the crab you suspect would help.
  7. lol...bro, think you might need to get ready a 7-10 footer if this beauty ever ever come knocking at your door. You dont want to let this opportunity slip by if it ever comes....then as Digi said, you woldn't die in peace
  8. Wilson, guess you must be now squeeezing every bit of your brian juice scaping ? or have you already done with it
  9. Wow, gorgeous anthias, never know they can also have such nice unique fins. Add a bill to it and it resembles a Sail fish !
  10. Wow...that's a nice colony size If only our local waters could host these specimen that would be so wonderful, i wonder what's lacking in our water here that we dont see such nice SPS
  11. For those who likes to dwell into the bots and nuts of lighting (especially LED ) technicality, an interesting read !
  12. Wonderful to see another reef couple joining this hobby, can see that you and your bf already receiving very warm welcome from all corners in SRC Am very impress with your planning schematic, seems like you or bf in engineering field ? Having a reef tank is surely exciting. But the maintenance chore will come in no time, be it placement ( or even taking out) of wave makers, cleaning of glass panel and siphoning of detritus could be make easier with careful planning and placement of your tank location. Talk to some of the seniors ppl like Eniram, Wilson who already has gone through the baptism of salt water as they will give you valuable advise in setting up new system. Because once your tank is filled and stocking begins, it's very unlikely you will get a chance to shift the tank. So my advice is give yourself ( or your bf ) ample space for manoeuvrings. Also, do plan ahead for some infrastructure such as piping for water change / auto water top-off etc well ahead of the tank placement. This will help to relieve you and your bf much work in the maintenance work and you will get to enjoy your reef tank more. Once again, welcome to the family
  13. Clee, thank God you manage to come back safely As James guess it right, my observation is that this mille seems to enjoys very good flow I wonder roughly how big is that colony which you saw ?
  14. Impressive SPS husbandry bro, to note that the WS colonies and the frags color has maintain till now shows that you have a good water quality Let's see how it goes from here as you will be entering a constant battle with feeding your fish (now that you are considering adding more) versus low nutrient water quality Btw it's Radioactive Birdnest frag i think
  15. Oops....it's Radium MH bulb ... initially i was reluctant to try it when i know it's 20K since i had the experience of using the BLV 20K before and it's too blue for my liking. But the radium 20K turn out to be not as blue as BLV, so I am happy with the color
  16. Hi James, One of my display is using 2x400watt SE bulb. I recently change my bulb from Reeflux 12K to Radian 20K. The Radian 20K seems slightly more bluish than Reeflux, also the Radian seems less bright but overall quite pleasing to the eyes. I turn on my MH for 5 hours, T5 around 12 hours.
  17. Omg, this is such a beautiful huge colony ! Haha, it does looks like some sort of a map It is a hardy piece as i mentioned, just that the freshly cut frag is a little fragile. After it started to encrust it is very fast growing and pretty aggressive.
  18. Haa...bro, i like your thread name
  19. Lol...Bro, it is indeed a very addictive side of the hobby. I just wonder who actually coin the word Dark Side ? It's so funny yet so true
  20. Haha, now you know why it's called the dark side as Larry has rightly pointed out . Red planet is among the few rare staff which I can now only offer upon " frag-on-order " . These are premium staff which are very limited in quantity and i do not wish buyers risking their money buying a rare frag that are not healthy. I notice the Red Planet tends to be quite easily stress when they are freshly frag. If they are not left to settle down properly during the first few days, there is a high chance they will stn and die. However, once they are properly healed, they are very hardy and seems to be one of the most aggressive sps, even a humillis is no match If you are keen, i will arrange a healthy frag for you and keep you inform once ready.
  21. Thanks Lemon, I would love to own one some day , they are just unbelievable lovely
