  1. Following are some of my extreme SPS collections, start with a few first and will update as and when free Over-The-Rainbow Tenuis Blue Flame Chesterfieldensis Somewhere-Over-The-Rainbow Millepora Ice Fire Echinata Turquoise Yongei Rainbow Mille/Prostrata
  2. It showed just how kind hearted this bros are, and their best wishes (via action) to your brother in-law
  3. Bro, the water cloudy could means that there is some die-off from the LR. Check and smell if the tank water have any foul smell, if so, i suggest you do a major water change (30-50%) using a good reliable NSW
  4. Lol...bro, rest assured goodies reserved for your liao. Seeya
  5. A very big Thank You for all the support so far, make alot of new friends and hope you guys like the frags and the goodies
  6. You can try to do an experiment and see if a new replacement of t5 tubes (similar type) does have an impact on the algea bloom or not. Alternatively, the only way to control algea is by means of either to minimise introduction of nutrient i.e. food, or by nutrient export such as skimming, biopallet, bacteria base, macro algea etc. Cheers
  7. Hi Bro, IMO depending on what you intend to keep, reefing need not be very costly. Softies are usually not light demanding and are more tolerant of nutrient rich environment. So if you are contented with less demanding corals, i think both the setup cost, equipment cost and running cost can be kept low . Have a successful and enjoyable reefing journing
  8. Congrates bro, so nice to see all these nice frags you have grown them all Zoas collector, better grab it fast before it's all GONE !
  9. Thanks James for your kind words, there are many other seasoned reefers out there who are just as successful too
  10. Glad you have something to try out first Just be sure to maintain a stable kh and sg level, provide good lightings and flow and check your sps progress
  11. Lol...there was a SPS topic during the last exihibtion in IMM Anyway bro i am flattered by your comment. Whenever there's a visitor, I always make an effort to find out their tank profile, their experience and so on, then try to share as much as i could to assist with their aspiration in sps husbandary. It's very fulfilling as i am not just sharing but almost always get to learn and appreciate their individual experience too. Each time as i pay visit to other reefer's tank, i am humbled by how much i have to learn from them. No one can claim to have the best know-how in everything, humility is the best way to progress
  12. Of the few macrostoma i have tried, only one have survived more than a year and would likely to continue since i believe it has fully recover from shippment stress and acclimatised to the tank condition. Other sensitive species that easily stn or rtn from shippment stress includes a.arabensis, convexa, vermiculata, nasuta, nobilis. They looks pretty similar to each other which leads to my suspicion that perhaps certain coralrite shape are relatively less tolerant to stress. Just a fun thought of it, no scientific reserarch on this area i suppose
  13. If i dont recall wrongly, kitkat is a nick given particularly to abrotanoides, for it is almost a sure thing to turn brown ( in most reefers case ). Abrotanoides has a uniquely fat and sharly tappered shape - one of the most challenging SPS
  14. That's why i suspect its possibly A. macrostoma or related genies. It's not unusual to find A. Macrostoma in Aussies shippment. High flow is a given for this species, lighting wise i have yet to find out, but you may be surprise that they are not as high light demanding.
  15. Lol...STN King ?! Very funny yet such appropriate description for this SPS. I have several encounter with this specimen from Figi waltsmith shippment...and yes most of the time it will STN or even SRTN From the coral structure it looks like acropora Macrostoma sp. What do you think ?
  16. Lol....actually hotsoup is a very playful boy boy, always wanna make fun of me but he is one of the most steady buyer i have met, never take advantage of others
  17. Glad to hear that all is well with you Hope to catch up with you someday !
  18. Thanks bro, been a long time we last catch up. Hope all is well with you
