I agree with reefer guy. Most SPS problems are linked in one way or another to Alk fluctuation. Keep Alk stable 24/7 and SPS will grow. If there is not enough light or high nutrients, SPS will turn brown first. Just my opinion. Thanks

My comments on your project: - The cost of running a 230W peltier cooler is going to be double or more than a normal 250W chiller - The cold side of the peltier gets colder when the hot side gets cooler, but I don't think the hot side can be cool efficiently enough for the cold side to cool your tank. I the peltier may end up running nearly non-stop. - Even peltier chillers made by Resun, Teco, etc. are not popular because they are not efficient Just my opinion.

Use very very little bleach in your bucket of water. After I mop my marble floor, walk also got friction sound. But make sure you use very little bleach and mop on a hot day so the water evaporate fast. If too much bleach is used there will be sticky feeling. I mop floor so much that become expert already

High Ca, Mg & KH is not necessary good when you want to maintain absolute stability. I would rather the Big 3 (Ca,Mg, KH) numbers are lower to match my tank parameters so there is no swing everytime I change water...

I suspect the sea around SG is too polluted to sustain sps corals. We have one of the busiest ports in the world and with that many super tankers come to our shores every week. These tankers can dump loads of rubbish into sea, a sacrifice we have to make to have the busy... Another reason can also be because the return on investment for such a venture is too low for business minded SG garment. Just my thoughts
