It is suggested to enhance the occurrence of HLLE. The mechanism behind HLLE is not well-defined. Carbon is suggested to clean the water too aggressively while electricity may be causing imbalances in absorption/retention of charged nutrients (electricity part is my proposed theory, haha. There is anecdotal evidence that electricity promotes HLLE).

Depending on your preference. Dry skimmate tends to be darker than wet. It's kind of like tea or coffee, the more concentrated, the darker. If you are doing wet, make sure skimmate very frequently. I prefer a wet skim for small tank. Somehow, it helps you to do wc, haha

You didn't state what salt you are using for strontium. Potassium can be easily overdosed with possible drastic effects

Not really. Mine just died off yesterday after I added rowaphos the day before. Reappeared today after I overfed yesterday. My tank is small anyway, easy to decontaminate.

I also do have some hair and bubble algae. I am currently using them as free test kits for my carbon and phosphate remover dosing. I do notice them turning white upon addition of new remover and turning green when I overfeed. Think of them as seachem ammonia alert, instead, they measure phosphate and nitrate.

Even if you do nothing to them, it will eventually release spores. It's just a matter of time. The best way is to solve underlying issue than to use predators. Predators will just increase your bioload, further worsening the problem. Solve the water quality issue. You may get rid of bubble algae now with predators, if underlying issue not resolved, other pests may come (eg hair algae, cyano, diatoms/dinos). Eventually, your tank will be hosting all sorts of predators.

Sugar is not as good. There's reports of sone corals reacting badly to sugar. A carbon source that you choose to use should not adversely affect corals
