  1. Doesn't make much difference as bacterial population is very dynamic. If you have higher or lower nutrients, the population will increase or reduce within the hour
  2. NO3 - 0ppm PO4 - 0ppm (higher sensitivity) Iodide - 0.03ppm Ca - 490ppm Mg - 1320ppm dKH - 10.5 tests conducted 1 hour after feeding and adding additives. it appears that the tank uses up iodide at a rapid rate.
  3. nicely done. can always take some inspirations from planted tank and use that as a moss wall, haha
  4. Baby clams need to be frequently fed with good quality phytoplankton
  5. Salifert I2 Profi Test Exp: 09-2013 Tested twice on 3 September and 6 September. I2 - 0.00ppm iodide and iodate Dosing 6 drops of Seachem Reef Iodide daily. 3rd September was performed 24 hours after iodide addition. 6th September was performed 10 minutes after iodide addition. Positive control was performed on 6th September with 2ml tank water dosed with 20 drops of Reef Iodide. Test solution was full of dark blue precipitate.
  6. how long was it in tank? how fast did the bleaching took from initiation to completion?
  7. I presume there's nothing much I can do? That was taken within 2 hours in tank. I was feeding the tank before the photo taking. Thanks for the id.
  8. DI water to be precise. It is to save shipping costs
  9. remember to get d-d filter bag. most bags leak purigen, that's another problem with purigen. I cannot determine your dosage for biopellets as different tanks have different nutrient load. I believe your nutrient levels may be high, that would explain the bloom. I do recommend you to start of with 25% of manufacturer's recommended dosage, and slowly ramp up by 25% monthly. Dosage should be reduced to the dose which is on the verge of giving a bloom. Do remember that dosage has to be adjusted once the bioload changes as well. polyfilter can be used as a primitive form of mechanical filtration. it can be used as replacement for filter floss. As for chemical filtration usage, anywhere with a good flow would be fine, it is recommended to place in an area where it is visible to allow you to check the colour change easily. 8-12 would be fine, however, anecdotal evidence suggests 9-10 for better coloration. that said, there are tanks with colourful sps with dKh range of around 8 and range of 11 too.
  10. bleach you meant? do you have any lps around? sometimes it's just pests or warfare.
  11. Go c328 and polyart see. There's 2 versions, go for marine, not freshwater. If you need the box pic, i can send you. Mine is 27cm though, that's the largest model. If you are going for sps, this is a bit sketchy.
