  1. u need to adjust the air intake according to the tank water level, atmospheric pressure, etc. skimmers, especially those badly designed, can be very affected by various conditions very significantly. usually takes a few days to break in, according to tunze's manual, it takes weeks to break in. used to have red sea prizm pro, noisy for 2 weeks, then silent for another 2, and finally skimming water for no reason.
  2. i have the luxury of time since i am trying to procure a tank, haha
  3. hopefully I can get 2nd hand too. if I am not wrong, 2nd hand is better than 1st hand after mild cleaning as it requires less break in time
  4. nice, bro, can go look at your tank and take notes? haha
  5. sponges hard to keep? if they are, i will cut to shape from the ones I bought from NTUC,
  6. from what I know, you have red sea and aquac to play with. good, but limited choices
  7. tunze and deltec much better than red sea prizm. used that before, not very good, skimmer has a fair bit of temperament, need constant adjustment
  8. can anyone recommend me good skimmers that can work externally (100%, not even in sump)? can't seem to find any skimmer with that feature.
  9. bro, someone at marketplace selling aquac at 60, not a bad skimmer imo
  10. willing to trade with a new 2x1x1 high grade low iron braceless tank as well
  11. try tunze 9002 if you are going not to keep sps. less than 4 and more than 3 blue notes for a new one, silent and good. maybe got exchange, money back policy literally can't be found in singapore
  12. fan. windows always open. now it's also 31, even with a standing fan blowing towards tank
  13. Custom 3 x 1.5 x 1.5 ft crystal glass (low iron) braceless tank $60 collection before Saturday - Solid 10mm Asahi Low Iron Glass - Japan high Quality Black Silicon - Consider New as it only touches water for once and then drain out got it from bro from another forum. tank too solid, hence too heavy for my table. not used by me. relatively new (refer to link). - Collection must be done within 1 day upon confirmation - Price is Fixed (without Delivery). If need delivery or relatively cheap cabinet, can give you contacts (very optional). I don't really know them, just the lowest quotes from the many sources I enquired from. - Collection at yishun - Please do collection with at least 2 Man Power (Lift Landing)
  14. haha, i would prefer second hand too. also looking at bigger ranges from tunze,
  15. ya, i am now running eheim 1250 out of water, so heat going to water should be less. I am placing it on study desk, dead in the middle of the room, and my room receives literally no sunlight (am very sure as none of my potted plant survives). today at 7am already 31, maybe I live in the dead center of the equator, haha
  16. bro, mind if I hitch a ride on your thread?
  17. Add a sponge at outlet to trap microbubbles. If you are using sump, you can do that at the buffer area. As for cyclops, switch off skimmer during feeding or else most of it ends up in the waste cup of skimmer
