I dun really feel like going to the details how much I spent cos it sort of makes me sad of but I guess from the items listed u guys can estimate. Started from scratch, totally nothing at all. The cabinet got 2nd hand and the tank custom made. Definately spent $1k+. Have not reached $2k yet. Thinking of changing to MH, then maybe will reach $2k liao.

Yeah Reddevils, I spent a hell lot of effort and time on this setup. Not to mention the amount of money I spent!!!! I started everything from scratch. To reduce the splashes, I placed a plastic hose at the PVC, fixed pieces of styrofoam around and under the sump tank and also placed a piece of cloth under the sump tank.

Hi, Thanx for all the feedback. Be it in the form of warning or encouragement, I believe that all of u meant well and I sincerely appreciate it. Yes, I had a tank with only 5 inches of sand bed and 5 market prawns in the tank for a few days before putting in the 40kg of live rocks. Only put in the clown fish when the NH3 and NO2 went to 0. For the past 1.5 week, all the LS are eating very very well and the corals seem to be opening quite nicely. Will definately monitor very closely. Pls feel free to add more comments, especially on the sump, the rocks, corals, ls, etc. Thanx.

Oppss....I thought it was ok as my NH3 went down to 0 and my NO2 was also practically 0. I tested with one of the clownfish for a few days before getting more ls. What would probably happen? Any advise what I shud do now?

Hi, Thanx for all the comments so far. I noe that my tank is still very very young. Will definately be keeping a close eye on it. Hope to get more advise.

2 weeks. My clownfish have not been fighting. Most of my fish and corals have been in the tank beween 1.5 to 1 week. All my LR are bought from reefers. All came from established tanks.

My sump. When I test NO2, it looks clear from the top. From side view, very slight pinkish color.

Hi, I have a 3'x1.5'x2' tank and am currently using PL lights fitted to the cabinet cover. I'm thinking of converting to 150watt MH. 1) Can I put the MH in the hood? How far does it have to be from the water? 2) Can I just change the PL ballast to MH ballast if there is such a thing? Apologies for my ignorance but advise but really be appreciated. Thanx.

I'm using salifert for PH, Ammonia, NO2 and NO3. So far so good. Also using JBL for Calcium. I think there's something worng with the JBL instructions. Anyone face the same problem?

Hi, I bought a normal tube worm about a week ago. Has not come out ever since I put it in my tank. Is it dead? Picked it up and smelled it but no foul smell. I have another one which opens everyday. Tempted to peel the casing to see if the worm inside is still alive. Can or not? Thanx.
