  1. Actually...they managed to dig out historic threads and add comments 'Nice', 'Good info', etc...also not easy la...lol... and I am not judging... On the other side of the coin, maybe they really feel that those old threads contains useful info so they want to upz the posts for other to reference... so for me...just give them benefit of doubts la. they are not hurting anyone anyway.
  2. I secretly feel that the solo clownfish is cursing all the newcomers...lol...for some reasons it wants to be alone... oh btw, the solo clownfish never attack the newcomers...it just cursed them to death...
  3. Strange encounter on my part... Used to have a few false percula clownfish but slowly perished till there is only 1 left. All other fishes - wrasses, tangs, goby, damsels alive and with me... At some points, felt the solo clownfish too lonely so added a couple but they always perished...leaving the solo one lonely again...over the years tried 2 - 3 times - same result...odd...because they went through the same drip accilimation as the other fishes I added...all ok except clownfishes... sigh...cursed...
  4. Sorry to hijack this thread but I do have the similar question in mind - NP biopellet cause bacteria bloom, hence the output should target at the skimmer to remove excess bacteria. if an amount of bacteria enters the tank can be food for coral and filter feeders, however if too much excess in tank can cause cyano problem I heard... this concept always puzzle me - NP biopellet is supposed to keep nitrate and po4 low (which in turns help to reduce algae issue) but if not manage correctly, can cause algae + cyano issue? odd odd... can someone enlighten please?
  5. I guess becoming a victim of scam can be upsetting experience but reefers should aim to use the subforum constructively... 1) As what bro Harlequin mentioned, for the benefit of doubt and fairness to the other party involved, give the other party 24 ~ 48 hrs to respond back. Just in case there is a misunderstanding. 2) To warn fellow reefers of these irresponsible buyer/seller. Of which both above are for a good cause. With the thought of point (1) in mind, I was thinking whether the victim should be putting up the real name and full contact number straightaway. If later it was clarified by both parties that this is a misunderstanding then it may be paiseh for the victim since he already 'announced' to every fellow reefer of the other party's contact, and such. Just a thought la. I am thinking maybe after 24 ~ 48 hrs if no attempt from the other party to correct the matter, then publish the name and contact...otherwise can just publish the contact as 8***1234 for example
  6. Subjective. some people do not mind them as scavengers while others feel there are nasty looking. Personally if I see the big ones, I will remove them, I am sure that there are tons of smaller ones that can do the same job.
  7. Is the dottyback the only fish to be in? guess if it is the first fish, it will try to make himself the only fish...hahaha...aggressive. Nice tank, I am thinking of doing something for my office too...
  8. NO3 24ppm for 2 weeks liao... hope it will go down further...

  9. Huh? aiyo...not very comforting, was hoping it will grow bigger...
  10. My observation is that: 1. They dont move - as far as I see. 2. Hard as if you are touching stone surface. 3. Stick firmly to the glass and I need to use force to scrub them off... Just realised that they are on my rocks too
  11. Thanks! I hope this helps to identify...my camera not so good...
  12. Hi bros, Need advice here Recently I am starting to see more and more of these white precipiates like tiny white spots forming on my aquarium. If I tried to remove them, can feel that it is like hard and some can be hard to remove. Getting more of them today, and starts to 'grow' outside my skimmer, etc. Is it due to too high calcium? But I never dose calcium since I am keeping softies... Thanks in advance
  13. Found these online, just to share. Test kit cleaning, tips and hints
  14. No really...there are 2 particular pieces which are heavily infested so probably I can dip in freshwater, but isnt this going to 'kill' the rocks? Some other rocks have 1 or 2 aiptasia here and there. I am also worried that they may be at corners which I cannot reach/see
  15. Hi brothers, Re-posting this because really pulling my hairs off...the battle with aiptasia is not won yet. Since brothers have helped to ID, I have tried peppermint shrimps, copperband butterfly but none of them seem to feed on them. I tried spraying them with Tropic Marin Elimi-Aiptas but they retracted and disappeared a few days then came back on the exact same spots! Clueless liao...what else can I do ah? Thanks!
  16. Hi Bros, Need some help to id this fellow. I have seen it twice coming up at night attaching itself on the side of the tank. This time I have a better view of it... wonder if it is some form of mollusks...thanks.
  17. mm ... interesting... maybe design one for my own too...
  18. Actually it is curious to know if anyone ever successfully keep sponges in their aquarium. I tried blue sponges and orange ball before...simply hard to keep them alive even if I target feed every alternative day
  19. My own preference is still ML for rocks. Nice shaped which are interesting for scaping.
