  1. All u need is number 3,4,5 .. And 6 , 6 u swap with a cap and drill a small hole on top
  2. Get durso .. Cost few $ only .. Got to hardware shop .. Buy the correct size pipes and just slip it on don't need to glue or anything ..it's actually quite easy to make a durso
  3. My chiller went kapoot today .. The fan just stop running .. It just won't turn .. Looking for spoiled resun ..280,450,650 . Temp controller spoil,no gas not chilling never mind .. But fan must be running ..
  4. I'm not worried if they are hair algae .. My tang , urchin and snails will get those .. They really look like dinoflagellates .. Nothing will touch those !! And non of my cleanup crew are touching this stuff in my tank..
  5. Black out? Lower nutrient ? Raise nutrient? Antibiotics ? Amoxicillin?
  6. Best way to deal with diatoms is to let it run out ... Mine did .. But now have a Dino problem .. Need some advice .. Did some reading (again) .. Black outs , lower phosphate nitrate .. ( how do u lower when the reading says 0.. ) interestingly .. I read a couple of threads saying ,to increase nitrate to battle dinos .. Now that's something different..
  7. I fail to understand, y when carbon dosing and your skimmer fail it will cause a crash? Y did the nitrate shoot up? Is sit because if the vinegar causing a lower ph and killed those bacteria causing a raise in nitrate or something else? Isn't bio palets a source of carbon too? So if u run biopalets and your skimmer goes kapoot same thing is gonna happen ? Please enlighten ..
  8. It's actually very easy ... Just a matter of joining wires..
  9. Will consider .. But Ive been offered a nac 9 last night .. much bigger skimmer
  10. External probe .. Can get from sim lim... Or u could use the existing one from your chiller ... Open the chiller up .. Take the probe out from the water compartment .. Sael up the hole (can buy the cap or use silicon to seal it up .. For probe extension just use normal wires and connect so the wire is longer , water proof the joining part and connect back to temp controller .. Due to longer wire sometimes u get different temp reading especially if temp controller is 3 digit ... so just calibrate the temp controller to the real temp of tank..
  11. Quite expensive for pair compared to singles ,I must say!!! Talked to the auntie ... Me : 'Auntie why your pairs so expensive? Auntie:Yet Lorr they pair up already , Me: so if I buy 2 singles will they pair up? Auntie : depends on your luck ... Choose one big and one small .. Better chance of pairing up... Me: ok auntie give me that big one and this small one .. Auntie: ok I pack you go and pay .. 1 red and 8 gold coins But due to my kiasuness .. I bought 2 more common clown ... (More clowns less fights) And true enough .. The small true perc became dominant paired up goes everywhere together... no fight between them but the smaller male true perc had to fight off the 2 common clown !!! And died of exhaustion !! Now I'm left with a big female true perc and a couple of common .. Don't see any paring yet.. Question ... Is this a common clown?
  12. I'll be getting this dc6000 pump then , any good place I can get it?
  13. I sold this chiller last week ... But I have another one .. Gonna put in an external probe before I put in for sale or trade ..
  14. Big old skimmers still do good work .. Check out mine .hahaha ups for your bro ..
  15. Few days ago, I went to coralfarm ... There were lots of true perc pairs..
  16. Not yet .. Currently running old school Macro Venturi skimmer .. 10yrs old!! Haha
  17. Wow 40 watts for 6k lph !! That's great!!
  18. Not much corals now .. Some shroom and a couple of Sps frag .. Wp25 in the tank already creating havoc!! Udonknowme I'm not thinking of going high flow now ... Was wondering say if a 2k return is more than enough then all the better coz low watts = less heat and consumption ..
  19. Was looking to change my return pump to a lower wattage . Been using an Atman 4000lph pump at 85 watts .. So read up on return pump and sump flow.. And I have always thought that the higher return flow the better .. But after reading a few articles I found out that a return of 3 to 5 times the main tank is more than enough .. So for a 3-2-2 ,400 liters tank ... 2000lph pump is more than enough .. Any thought and comments on this guys and what kinda flow are I guys doing now .. Ps: not to confuse with flow rate in the main tank.. http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2008-01/newbie/index.php http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1993436
