And so it is ... Woke up today , looked into the tank ... Hmmmm something is missing ,,, where is my powder black tang ,searched high and low , he's nowhere to be found.. He's always the first one out swimming around wanting food , even takes food out of my hands ... Can't be dead coz of the ich... He's still swimming happily last night. Searched summore and finally found him ... Hiding inside a carpet anemone , a place where he won't find a way out .. Farewell my good friend , u have been a great opponent for your yellow and blue extankmate ... You will be missed

If you insist on an external probe then .. U could just open up the chiller , find the existing probe (it would be in the water compartment ) take it out . Then replace the cap covering the existing hole making sure it doesn't leak. Now u have a external probe. Next u will need to extend the wire so that it will reach your tank. Any normal electrical wire will do.(choose those that are about the same size). Cut the existing wire (make sure u cut far bought that the join will not be in the water with the probe) then join the new longer wire to the probe and the chiller. It's as easy as that.. You can go here for reference .. http://aquatic-art.blogspot.sg/2008/10/chiller-turn-on-every-5-minutes.html?m=1 This link is for a freshwater tank. If you are going to buy a probe get those plastic covered ones for saltwater. Hope this helps ..

Run 90mins and rest 3hrs is about right . Think you don't need an external probe ... It is when the chiller keeps running once every 1/2 hour then u need an external probe ..

If im not wrong .. The pipe is too small for the return pump flow rate.. So a bigger pipe or a smaller pump will do the trick.. Either that or your are no getting enough air into the pipes..

Fresh batch of mangrove seed specially drifted from the indo pacific islands south of singapore , available for trade . Don't need to trade with fanciful corals. Any zoa or GSP or cloves frag will do. Don't even have to be on a frag plug .. If u wanna try some mangrove in the sump just snip 1 or 2 heads of your zoa any colour or GSP or cloves put them in water and we can trade ..

Garlic is super !!!! At least for me ..!! The ick came back with vengeance .. Came home yesterday to a tank with 3 tangs covered with white spots ... When I say covered I mean covered .. Head ,body , tail , fin, eyes looks like someone threw salt at them ! At first I thought they were all gonners.. Too many spots ,very bad infection . So with nothing to loose , I took a clove of garlic peeled and smashed, added a few drops of water then squeezed the juice onto some mysis shrimp and fed to the fish. This morning , amazingly all white spots are gone!!! Leaving some black spots where they used to be , all tangs are happy and fighting with each other again .. So total score ... Me 4 ick 0

So ... I I bought a plate coral yesterday and placed him in the tank , was looking good at first but today it's mouth starts gaping .. First I thought it's spitting out some brown stuff which it did but the mouth still not closed and it's not puffing up .. So is this good or bad...
