  1. A higher flow rate = more and faster water flowing though sump getting to the filters and skimmer and such. Which may or may not be good.
  2. Hi , In my own opinion it doesn't matter how much turnover u have , there are pros and cons on both slow and fast turnovers , I am running a 300+ litres tank and have a 4k pump running thru a chiller which bring down the total flow rate and the turnover and things are fine. U will however be getting different opinions from different people. A lot of people would be going for more turnover meaning bigger pumps
  3. Haha yes yes , it's quite priceless when a cheap brown Sps starts to colour up especially with normal cheap equipments ..!!

  7. You've missed the initial thread that was discussing deep sea Sps. Was deleted . Only those who read the thread will understand
  8. Well explained ,easily understood especially the first paragraph
  9. Oh sorry u don't use salt water for top up. Marine tank basics 101 . Top up with fresh water
  10. I dunno , I use NSW which many people say is unclean and my fish will die due to the rust that came from the truck that transport them.
  11. Don't buy coral from LFS also .. Coz they use their wash/unwashed hands to handle the corals and tie them in bags of unclean rusted NSW. The corals/fish will die the next day.
  12. Both no good .. Got rust in the pipes and tanks.
  13. Still waiting on how to acclimatize fish from LFS water to tank water..
  14. Let's not hijack this thread ... Our TS needs advise on saving dead fish and exactly how to acclimatize fish from good water to bad tank water, someone please help..
  15. And furthermore I don't know there is a process called acclimatisation
  16. Think u asking the wrong person .. Let's let others have a chance to reply.
  17. Ehhh .. No no .. 20% per day is too much, parameters will swing and kill all live stock .. Make that 10% every week .
  18. Oh ok ... Then maybe you did not 'acclimate' your fish to your bad water properly . That's y they died. Do a 20% wC everyday till your tank water is acclimated to good water , which I think will take forever. Good luck.
  19. Oh wait , can u specify what kind of fish died? I fail to see that you have other fish that still survive. Maybe it's the fish .. Not the water
