My 4 tangs , sorry for crappy video quality uploaded 1080 but guess need a few days to go thru

Lumens is a so called measurement of the brightness of the light , with led u get higher lumen for lesser watts per led diode compared to the normal light bulb.(hope I get that right ) So I would say a 1watt led outputs lesser lumen than a 3watts led. What's more important is the exact wavelength the led u use. For algae growth a 660nm red led is best and a 3 watts led is always better than a 1watt led. I however don't see the difference coz the LEDs are gonna be just a few inch from the algae screen.

Yes , 660nm red led is good for algae. Those 3watts led puck are best.

I have 4 tangs in a 3feet ,a yellow , a tomini, a sailfin and a powderblue, too many some would say. Why tangs ? Coz the are herbivores and grazers so I can afford to feed them once a day only.

Been awhile when I last updated this thread. Neglected the tank a bit these few weeks but have some new additions to show. I do get some funny species of coral these days .

If shrimps die the moment they go into the tank .. It indicates that u might have salinity issues , too big a difference. U might want to check the salinity again especially if u are using a hydrometer when doing the salt mix

Dinos are real nuisance , nothing eats them , they reproduce super fast , they covers and kills corals .. They are slimy and yucky. U will have to wait it out till they consume all the nutrients ,po4 no3 silicate .., same as diatoms they will disappear when there are no food for them. Try bacteria and carbon dosing , will make process faster

Up for t5 lights ... Will make Sps colours glow,pop and shine...
