Then it's a matter of time and patience , it takes time for bacteria to cultivate , multiply and get to work.
If it's as simple as dumping off the shelve 'medicine' into the tank, then I guess there won't be hundreds of thread complaining about algae /diatoms/cyno/dyno here.
To remove diatoms and algae from a tank you need to remove , silicate ,phosphate and nitrate .
If I'm not wrong ,all the product you mentioned above are bacteria , then you will need a carbon source (vodka,biopallets etc2) to complement them .
There are lots of running system to choose from , you can read a lot here in this forum , do a search .
Light is not the only cause of algae problem . The main problem are nitrate and phosphate. The algae is actually doing you a favor by removing these 2 bad element , just because the algae grows in the main DT it becomes a problem , try growing them in the refuge/sump out of sight.
