  2. 11g tank ... Just water change weekly , and use distilled bottle water for top up and increase flow . No need for fancy uv sterilizer
  3. Welly and his shovelnose.
  4. He's looking to adopt not buy .. So don't think he's gonna go buy a $400 shark from anywhere now. So all is good.
  5. I've done that , and to best do that is to purchase a bigger size tang than the resident one. It has a better chance against attacks and better chance of getting more food , it doesn't have to hide
  6. They fight when they are in territorial mode. Usually any fish that are same shape ,size and colour as they are. But the fights are not as bad as it sounds, if all the fish are about the same size and in good health , they would most likely survive. A tang added to an established tank with residents will not easily go territorial and attack. Correct me if I'm wrong but I guess that's about right.
  7. I've kept 3 tangs together , yes they fight but the damage was not severe , 1 eventually died not due to the fights but because it chose the wrong opponent ....... A carpet anemone
  8. Haha joking only ah, but I'm sure u have a very nice tank with all the years in the hobby.. I have some Birdnest frag to give away too if anyone wants some.
  9. U can grow cheato with those normal led light for plants . A beamwork led works great , or just any normal 6500k bulb or tube will be fine. A red and blue grow led lights will work too . The lights does not have to be switch on 24hrs , half that would be fine. Plants need some sleep too. I grow cheato and algae with a red grow led for 20hrs .
  10. Fish died due to cheato??!!!
  11. Wow !! Is that gonna be a 6f length ,3f width and 5f depth !!! There are certain regulations regarding weight for HDB flats , anything above 600kg per room needs to apply for a permit or something. Not too sure about condos.
  12. I recently build a UAS (upflow algae scrubber),the previous ATS a down flow one was giving problems with water and salt spray. And the results of the UAS was astonishing ,just look at my recent harvest !! This is a weeks worth of algae..
  13. Ah yaaa .. Nevermind .. Let it be .. U can't stop someone from what they wanna do or what they wanna keep.. 1 shark dead here is nothing compared to thousands killed for sharkfin or whatever shark related product. If you worry about the shark , then worry too about the thousands of other reef fish , inverts , corals that we buy for this hobby.
  14. Or u can try the reverse funnel bottle trap.. Miniature fish trap , should work on shrimps. Could work on bristle worm but hole need to be smaller I guess
  15. Pods eat algae ... Thats why they hang out place where there are algae .. If u clean the back glass , then they will go to the rocks .
  16. Essen of chicken bottle or any type of bottle , these are actually crab trap , put the bottle right side up (do not slant ) in the tank with its lip touching the rocks. Place some prawn meat into the bottle. Crab will crawl in the bottle and get trapped coz they cannot climb the smooth side of the bottle. It may or may not work on shrimp coz if I'm not wrong shrimps can swim up. But u can always try to cover the top before it swims out.
  17. Have u tried the Ess of chicken bottle with prawn bait? Same as trapping bad crabs.
  18. Your aiptasia very nice leh .. Got any leftover aiptasia to pass to me??
  19. If you r afraid of spoiling the water , then can use boiling water .. Use a syringe or turkey baster , just blast the aptasia with it. I've Never done this but that's what they say , it might just work .
