  1. Yes theoretically a coral would go white when bleach due to high lights , but this one goes brown , guess it doesn't bleach but goes angry and turn brown ..
  2. Wow .. Dont know how to answer this.. !!
  3. If there is some space in the skimmer that will not hinder the operation of the skimmer then u can put the biosphere there, eg at the bottom next to the pump and based on your tank size u won't need so much biosphere , I think 1 or 2 of those cube will be sufficient. Otherwise anywhere with good water flow is a good place to put the biosphere . For most carbon pallets gadgets or reactors it is advised that water output is be placed near a skimmer so that the bacteria can be skimmed out. I have mine in the overflow box now ,they were in the skimmer when I started and that helped bring down nitrates in 2 weeks .
  4. That's 1 week worth of algae , it depends on the tank feeding , more food = more algae per week
  5. Yes very true . Both scrubber has it's pros and cons . I build the waterfall ATS before this one .. And got sick of the salt spray.. Maybe next I'll try the floating scrubber ..
  6. Yes UAS is upflow scrubber used underwater the air bubble make water flow upwards and also provides the gas(co2) for the algae. I figured it would be a better choice due to low watts of air pump vs the extra water pump for a waterfall ATS.
  7. Selling $40 blue n white 3w led. Evo 18 ,Picture from the net .
  8. Just to add , tangs loves the algae , slurp them Up like noodles ..!!
  9. Let's add some UAS upflow algae scrubber here if u don't mind TS. I had success with the UAS. Here's some details of my DIY estimate price included . Led light $15 Air stone $2 2x daiso basket $4 Air pump $8 Algae screen $2 3 pin plug and wire $4
  10. If snails die in a tank then there's a serious problem going on..
  11. I wiould suggest 99% wC using NSW . And you will think that this not good coz the book and the internet says it's not good but I have friends who do this and they have very nice and thriving Sps dominated tanks, I personally don't do this coz my pocket is not deep enough. That's y I use biosphere and scrubbers. Here's a list of nitrate removing method 5
  12. Curing and killing live rocks is two different method . What you are doin is killing the live rocks with hot water .. When they are dead for sure they will rot and smell bad.. Curing live rocks is putting them above water lvl while having salt water spraying on them for a period of time , this way the unwanted pest like crabs , mantis shrimp and worms will crawl out and drop to the bottom leaving the bacteria and other good stuff alive on the rocks it's self..
