  1. Algae scrubbers are great !! One of my main filters , we can tell if the water is good by actually looking at the algae growth. Below is a picture of todays algae harvest, light green almost white algae says that the water lacks nutrients which is good. Regular removal of this kind of algae is a must. A upflow scrubber and a floating prototype one, lights are 660nm red grow light best so far
  2. Silicone cannot glue acrylic ? Maybe U should try first. There are tanks made of acrylic .
  3. When u say glue ... What glue are u using , coz if your using silicone then it should stick there for like forever..
  4. Yes bro ... If they erect high fence and no trespassing sign ,better don't cross ,sure sit in police lockup for 1 night , after tuas and penjuru area , they restricted the beach area in tanah merah also.
  5. I'm not sure if vinegar will make Sps have better PE .. But I don't feed my SPS but they have PE especially during lights off .
  6. To the left if the dam is the sungei buloh nature reserve bro .. Dunt anyhow go cast net or pang leng .. Recent news already reporting poachers spotted and warned ,To the right of the dam is fair game no one will catch u. If I'm not wrong there is a sign put up there in the small park for quite sometime already , forbidding people to even dig for clams there..
  7. To get better solubility on kalk , dissolve the amount of kalk in pure vinegar first then add the solution to the RO water, u will get lesser or sometimes no residue after. 1 teaspoon kalk to 30ml vinegar if I can remember correctly , always do that when I was dosing kalk
  8. So if the lack elements are the concern , u will need the whole range of test Kits u mentioned from 1-5 . Don't miss out any coz u might overdose or be lacking on some elements .generel rule of dosing ... Don't dose anything u don't test ..
  9. For Prawns need to go into the water @ the water breaker or the carpark side, at the dam area not so good and dangerous ... If u go there on weekends u can see some regular cast netters there , I don't recomend net casting there for young boys unless u are really hardcore netter who go chest deep water and cast..
  10. How u know the fish is having difficulty breathing? Are they at the top of water trying to jump out or breath from the air above?
  11. Have have , some frags just nice for nano , but not stable yet just broken from mother colony yesterday
  12. Come come , today come collect , have some scroll coral and big big cup coral for you
  13. Sometimes u can get monster Kims @ Kranji salt side , need to have good tide and moonrise timings. Lots of prawns there too if u do net casting
  14. Never tested the param, only salinity @ 1.025sg , someone in the wassap group did test n all was good , and so far I never had problems. But carrying them up to the flat is a hassle if u don't have a trolley.
  15. Mine took more than 3week to come out .. And bytheway I don't feed them ... Think they get food from the fish poo that's always floating around coz I don't have sand .
  16. Yes I do , and I saw u at lck201 that day remember?
  17. They come out during lights off , that picture was take @ 8 the morning , 4 days is still too early for the coral to be stable ,
  18. No problem bro , everyone entitles to their own opinion, why I say 50% wC .. Coz I've seen real live , not read from the net or anywhere ...90% monthly wC with nsw on a full Sps big tank. 50% wC on a Sps nano. All I can say is , keep it simple ,don't think too much ,be it wC with nsw or rodi/salt mix ,wC is a good method to bring down nitrates. Oh and when using nsw u still can adjust the parameters before adding to the tank , plus point is they come with beneficial bacteria unlike Ro saltmix.
  19. Small tank = small quantity of water , to reduce nitrate simply change 50% of water weekly easiest and best way using NSW .
