Hi guys just wondering if it would be possible to arrange for a day where we can all gather some place and do a SPS/LPS/corals swap, like a pot-luck picnic? We can all just bring the stuff dat we want to offer for exchange, and also meet up and maybe have a makan or LFS session? It would help us to get rid of corals dat we have grown bored of, ethically (i know some who let the corals die of neglect - i am one such culprit hahah), and help to spread the spare frags dat we have on our hands... Hope this can work out?

In my own experience (tried many many times), if u wana remove a perfectly healthy and growing clam, it is possible to use simple prying. Wat i do is make the clam close up, and then proceed to slowly, very slowly pull the clam up from the rock. Dont make any big movements cause it will risk tearing the upper part of the threads. If u pull slowly enuff, the thinner and lower parts of the thread will break off and the clam is removed safely with just a few threads left behind on the rock. I am offering this solution of mine because very often, u either encounter a very strong clam (dats wat i always get) which pulls itself very closely onto the rock making it impossible to even use a razor to cut the threads, or the rock it is attached to is impossible to remove.... This maneuver has its risks, so if u have to use this method, do it with the risks in mind k!

WAHAHAAHH I Nearly fell outta my chair at the Lawnmower blenny pix!!!! SO CUTE!!!! Like something fr a cartoon...WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAH

I also think it is much much better to use electronic sensors instead of the traditional float switches, as the chances of mechanical parts failing is sooo much higher than that of non-moving ones... And besides, I tink it is not very graceful for a permanent seller of a water top-up system to critic a normal DIY guy's stuff...it makes u look bad, like u are scared of it affecting yr business??? Of cos if Ah wa were to sell large amounts of this system, then u would have a case desinitely... Just my tots....

Erm maybe abt one in a MILLION!?!?!? Almost all managers in sg are thrown into their positions due to their academic achievements, NOT by their work experience...

Either ask for them in yr average luohan LFS (My pack of silverfish actually has a pic of a Luohan on it Yucks...), or like Roidan said, maybe u can get those fresh types in supermarkets. U might have problems with them rotting even if frozen tho, cause they arent processed in any way....

The situation Roidan described is classic aquaplaning, so i dont tink the tires would be gripping the road...But wat u guys said abt braking hard and suddenly is true. Well, when the situation is too late, light tapping will slow down the car and not lock the wheels (dont just tink yr ABS will save u, wat if it is ineffective during an emergency???), or if its too late, just release the accelerator and hold onto the steering in the proper positions taught during our driving lessons (10'oclock blah blah) If the puddle is large enuff, it will cause yr car to suddenly slow and maybe swerve abit, the trick is to counter-steer very slightly ONLY IF yr car starts to skid, because large movements will only cause u to lose control of the car faster...for me i just ensure the steering remains straight as possible. The above is my personal experience on some of the highways of Sgp during super downpours and large floods on the RIGHT lane...I am sure the one dat Roidan's uncle encountered in M'sia was much deeper, so best is to go slow during a storm i guess (I myself went thru a HUGE pothole once, when driving on a small road towards my relative's house in M'sia, cause the car speed was too fast and i wasnt driving defensively)

Wah stress leh, my main colony is becoming botak at this rate...will try and see if i can frag some more from the bottom, where it is not getting much light...they'll prob die off even if i dont frag dat area...

Sorry Bubble, they are reserved for those few guys for now, if they dont reply by tomolo afternoon, I'll put u in instead okie?

Hi all, received quite a few PM asking abt my blasto frag in an earlier sales thread. Bad news is, that frag was reserved for Tivoli already...good news is i tot abt it and decided to frag some more from the mother colony to sell here. All of them are reserved for JL27AY, Golden Tooth and Sheltie for now, as they were the very first few to PM me asking if i sold the frags...if they dont respond by tonite, I will release 3 of them for sales to anyone interested... Each frag is $4 to $5....

Hi I have a few frags of this, see if u okie to exchange - it turned browish after fragging, but it had purplish tips initially...

Yeah, same for me, the 'untalented' auditions are so much more entertaining and worth watching, than seeing those selected ones sing and sing again every week...

Wait till i lay my hands on one of those terrorists....

Hey Bicycle, first of all, good details u provided there, makes it easier for us to help u along... Erm how deep is yr tank? U mentioned a high landscape, yet the distance fr clam to light is still at 18inches, wow...Dat includes the distance of the light fr the water surface issit? Erm 150W shld be just sufficient to keep some normal to medium quality clams (maybe ultras would demand more, say a 250W) I would suggest u start off with a medium quality Crocea, as I have bashed and battered these clams, from moving them around the tank depths every day, to dropping and squashing them, yet they still manage to grow heheh... Also, they wont cost as much as a starter clam as some Maximas. If they are still available, another alternative would be to buy a baby maxima at LCK110, if they still have the stocks? These guys are small and hardy, but DONT get one below 3inches, they may require feeding on top of lighting needs... If u dont mind the yellowish coloration, a 10K bulb is good for growth and color, but if u wish for better viewing and a bluish tint, go for at least 14K bulbs (me not expert in MH so just suggesting) As for water, u have to ensure low or zero NO3, zero phosphates, and high CA and KH, cause clams SUCK calcium fast when they grow... As for livestock, normal turbo snails pose no problem other than toppling the clams, and your fishes should not nip at the clam either (unless u really unlucky). Watch out for small parasitic snails though, esp those cone shaped ones - when in doubt, remove... HOPE THIS HELPS? wedgee
