  4. Taken from AquaC website EV - 240 Spray Injection Protein Skimmer The EV-240 replaces our popular EV-200, but those words alone are unable to do this new skimmer justice. We've built a monster that can go head-to-head with every other sub-$500 skimmer on the market today - we've tested it against all the popular Beckett and downdraft type technologies and this skimmer consistently yielded exceptional results. The enormous mixing box and beefy 6" diameter foam tower make for excellent contact time, while our patented spray injection system guarantees ultra-quiet operation. A John Guest Super-Speedfit fitting is standard equipment on the EV-240 and allows for direct-to-skimmer calcium reactor hookup (blowing off excess CO2 can help stabilize tank pH). The EV-240 runs off one spray injector and builds a 14" high column of solid foam. You won't have to worry about a noisy or hard to clean injector with this skimmer and the Twist-Lock flanges feature the security of EPDM gaskets with the same ease of cleaning as our original EV Series. Freshwater and Marine Aquarium Magazine ran a review of the new EV-240 in their September, 2002 issue. Click here to read the results! New features for 2002 • Designed to sit directly on sump bottom - up to 10" of sump depth • 3/8" precision ball valve for air flow control • Super silent - you won't hear it running • Virtually no bubble return to sump - we guarantee it • Twist-Lock flanges make for secure connection without screws • Mixing box has been increased by 40% = greater contact time • Larger collection cup drain • John Guest Speedfit fitting standard for calcium reactor hook-up • Larger, wider diameter foam tower Specifics • Height: 26" • Footprint: 10.75" x 6.75" • Input: 3/4" hose barb • Output: 1.5" gate valve • ¼" John Guest "Speedfit" fitting standard equipment • 3/8" FTP air inlet with precision ball valve for foam tuning • 5/8" collection cup drain • 6" x 10" OD foam tower • Auto-waste container compatible - flanges feature EPDM gaskets • Patented Spray Injection System (U.S. Patent # 6,156,209) Installation • In-Sump • Stand-Beside • Inline with sump

  13. U know what guys, lets not start saying that its a ridiculous amount to claim based on what we know here, perhaps it is really true that there were expensive equipment, furniture in there that has been ruined by the tank breakage. I dont see why all of us being marine hobbyists, should just jump to the defence of the tank makers. Sure it might be a huge amount and the customers probably didnt know better, but if the tank crack did cause a serious amount of damage, i would too claim for a justifiable amount of compensation, if i had paid for a tank that i had thought would not crack.... I also feel that even if the claim is not successful, it is perhaps a wake up call for companies to provide adequate information for their customers. The onus was on the company to perhaps find out about their customer intended purpose for the fish tank and advise accordingly. I dont think the customers should suffer if there is a lack of support from a company who is supposed to be the better of the two in terms of the technicalities in a sale? I tink not knowing that the tank cant take e weight of SW is not an impossibility for alot of people - we know that from the finding nemo craze... Of cos $100k is an unreasonable amount to claim but i tink $20k is not too far from being reasonable...?
  14. thanks people for upzing mi sale... upz!
